Just looking at where Wigans players come from and it's noticeable that most of the players are from outside of the Wigan area,is this a concern or are you happy to spread the net far and wide to recruit your juniors?

I'm not a Warrior but I don't suppose they will mind. It's nice to be able to capture juniors from your own district but if the talent is not available at the time getting good quality juniors is the most important thing, regardless of where they are from. Besides, the best of the juniors will always have the pick of the teams and won't necessarily go to their own town clubs and instead opt for the best club at that time, leaving the rest of the club's with the next best juniors.

I'm a Bradford fan and I don't think and I may be wrong the junior amateur game is particularly strong in our district, which has led to us raping Halifax district for their lads. Halifax really do seem to produce some outstanding talent as well, as well as the Heavy Woollen district.

It's important in my opinion for pro clubs to really support, invest and try to develop their own districts to try and increase the numbers of players at junior level. This in turn would lead to a larger and better quality juniors available to them when they're ready to sign theeir junior players.

Also Schools are important too, I don't know about anywhere else in the country but school RL in Bradford is pretty weak. It's hard though for schools because football will always get first priority.

You look at junior development in football and its important to get kids into schools with food quality football programmes. Perhaps RL clubs could be looking to improve the School comps and programmes in their districts.
