Watching Greg Bird last night got me wondering about a season or two of him playing a Lockers type role with us too. Old, experienced head, good leader, good skills - similar to Bryan Fletcher in that regard. I know he made a few errors but with Bateman leaving and Lockers being Lockers, we are going to need some leadership in that pack.
Hello Warriors Fans . Drinkwater has certainly been a revelation but I should add that he has been playing behind a dominant pack . There is obviously an argument that the enormous improvement of our pack is due to their confidence in Drinkwater-and indeed in Langi-,. Drinkwater has not yet signed an extended contract and there are no rumours either way on the French site-usually a very good source of information.
Bird is indeed on a huge salary, quite probably the highest in superleague ,and despite his errors and fouls he has been a very good acquisition. He has 3 more years to go and there is zero chance of him leaving
For a Dragons fan this has been a half season of utter despair followed by a half season of total elation. How could we be trounced by Widnes, Salford and Hull K.r and now be able to trounce Castleford . Friday's game against you will be a big test .Will we rest players for the cup game, however . Good to see S.Tomkins improving steddily .
