Watching Greg Bird last night got me wondering about a season or two of him playing a Lockers type role with us too. Old, experienced head, good leader, good skills - similar to Bryan Fletcher in that regard. I know he made a few errors but with Bateman leaving and Lockers being Lockers, we are going to need some leadership in that pack.

There is obviously an argument that the enormous improvement of our pack is due to their confidence in Drinkwater-and indeed in Langi-,. Drinkwater has not yet signed an extended contract and there are no rumours either way on the French site-usually a very good source of information.

Bird is indeed on a huge salary,quite probably the highest in superleague ,and despite his errors and fouls he has been a very good acquisition. He has 3 more years to go and there is zero chance of him leaving
