Quote ploinerrhino="ploinerrhino"Why don't Wigan have more home fans ? and by the way whilst yes you do normally travel well to Headingley you were well short of 2K last season'"
For a start we were only given a reduced number.
Secondly why didn't you guys "sell out" every game last year? You were averaging 16/17k a few years back?
12k and a bit average. Bearing mind there was a couple of games taken to elland rd which took 24k and 17k to boost that figure the average at headingley must have been about 11ish?
10k ish for Catalans
Must have been similar for Toulouse , Widnes etc.
There's someone on the VT having a go at Wigan for cheapening the game by selling cheap tickets (bear in mind there will only be 3kish discounted by about 25% sunday).
"However, what I will say is that Leeds' approach in recent years has quite clearly been to focus on lower volume and higher margin, rather than a "stack 'em high, sell 'em cheap" model that we see deployed by other clubs and the RFL. You only have to look at how Headingley is being reconfigured to see that - cheap standing capacity has been replaced with seats that will be selling for a matchday rate of around £35-£40 a seat. I highly doubt that there are many cheap or free tickets floating around LS postcodes"
Seems like Leeds fans have got a bit upset about their loss of power and not getting their own way in the SL takeover debate?
Suddenly lots of slagging off of leneghan and Wigan
Now it's not about the attendances but fleecing more money out of less people?
Let's see how many tickets they sell in the long run at 35-40 A ticket.
Let's see how that affects their attendances in the "city of leeds" population around 500k!
Compare that with Wigan of around 150-200k (and don't give me 3330k rubbish, try telling people from Leigh/atherton/tyldelsyey/Washington they're wiganners).
I just wish our own fans would get behind our own club, they're plenty from outside want to have a go without is turning on ourselves.
