Quote ="Rogues Gallery"Farrell was superb again last night. More metres than any of the Wigan forwards, 35 tackles (third most). He's so consistent that he just doesnt' get the praise he deserves. He's been selected six times for the "dream team" more than any other second row forward.'"
It's true that his decline is somewhat exaggerated but I think most would agree that he is definitely not quite the player he was. He is no longer the attacking threat he used to be (which is not to say that he is no threat at all) and, while he remains a very strong defender, he has missed tackles this year that he would not have done in previous years. If Willie Isa had not been injured then I am sure Farrell would have been rested a bit more, and that would have done him good. But we just haven't had the luxury of doing without him. I would absolutely still want him to go round again next year, but I would hope we could cover him a bit more. Walters is still not where he needs to be, and his future may well be in the middle anyway, though I think he is improving, so that has put a lot of pressure on Faz and Nsemba.
