He isn't up to it but give him runners and he is a very talented player
Having talent doesn't mean your automatically good enough its how you use your talent and if it fits in
Unfortunately with Smith he doesn't use his talent well and it doesn't fit in

| Kirk is right, Tim often shows small touches of clas which i believe that he could produce more often, If he had forwards willing to do some extra , useful work. It is easy to see that he is trying to lead us around the park at times but just cannot get it to work. He is suspect in defence but that is something he can work on, his passes are awesome when he gets the chance.

| Quote Broxy Music="Broxy Music"Shaun Wane would be a great appointment till the end of the season - he's a wigan lad who knows the younger players , has proved him self at reserve level - and it gives IL 6 months to look for a replacement if he doesnt do well. If he does well give him the job - Could be similar to the run we had under mike greg after raper was sacked.'"
Think that could be the way forward myself, no decent coaches available at the moment & IL won't break the bank to bring someone in who's under contract.
Out of interest does anyone know which coaches are out of contract at the end of the year?

| Noble's very rigid and prescriptive style of play just isn't appropriate for current SL or Wigan. The way he plays the halfs on each side of the field does my head in. This leads to a distinct lack of linking half back play consequently no links with the centre and without any decent centre play the wingers have no chance.
We are all crying out for the youngsters to be given their chance and for some Wigan passion and so the logical choice for me would be Shaun Wane. THis would also avoid the instability that bringing in someone completely new would bring.

| personally I would expect hanley to be named as coach at some time in the next two weeks!!!Like most wiganers id love it to be edwards ,but I cant see that being likely as people have pointed out leneghan is not going to break the bank...he might just get rid of nobby but he would not be in the business of offering wasps and walesRFU millions to get edwards, and Im not sure edwards would come just yet anyway because of his lad.
Im not going off anything but intuition, but hanley is in everyones minds at the moment (due to shockingly bad reality TV) and I think leneghan will see hanley as a crowd pleaser, likely to take us forward and as a excelent 2nd best to bringing edwards back, which is probably not likely at this stage

| Quote andyed-wiganrl="andyed-wiganrl"Not heard this one....would be a fantastic move IMO...why not employ him as a defencive coach as they have in union, working alongside the new coach, whoever he may be when they come in. If I was leneghan I would be trying to bring in as many ex wiganers on the coaching board as I could....people who dont believe in losing, and have the culture of success at all costs.
Imagine having edwards/ hanley as head coach with ex players like farrell and radlinski as assistants....we'd be unstopable'"
Get them playing

| So...
Ellery Hanley - available, but questionable experience and management skills.
Shaun Wane - possibly a good shout, the young 'uns have his respect and he's a Wiganer.
Adrian Lam - available and a darkhorse IMO. Would be a popular choice I think.
Shaun Edwards - not going to happen for a while, but he would be the best choice to sort us out.
Tony Smith - has the right attitude to coach Wigan, but I'm still undecided on him.
Eddie Jones/Andy Farrell - can't see it happening to be honest.
Stuart Raper - doubt he would come back and would be an uninspiring choice.
John Kear - not sure he could handle the pressure of the Wigan job.
Shaun McCrae - no thanks.
David Waite - an interesting name thrown in to the mix, but I can't see it happening.
Might have missed off a few names there. If IL does give Noble the boot I think it is likely to come down to Wane, Lam or Tony Smith who gets the job...

I personally would like a former player to take over and restore the pride and passion of wearing the "famous cherry & white"
If SW does get the job I wish him well. He has done a fantastic job with the lower grades and he should be given a chance IMO.
If it's not SW who gets the job who else is in contention because its only time before Noble goes?'"
Its only time for any coach to go(resign or be sacked)
I think it may be just too soon for Shaun at the mo

Bring a coach with absolutely no experience into a club that currently has major on field issues. Sounds like a cunning plan to me!

That is only doing the rounds because some Union rag decided Eddie Jones was up to something.
Its an insane idea and one IL should avoid.

| Ive never heard anything as daft as appointing some RU coach with no or little experience of RL and having a guy who has never coached RL as his assistant. If there is any truth in this then IL needs his head testing as hes clearly lost the plot.

I am sorry but if the whole concensus of opinion in the fans shifts toward Noble being sacked then as custodian of our club, Mr Lenegan has no choice but to act on "our" behalf, otherwise he risks his own position within the organisation (EG Mike Ashley)

not if the crowds keep falling off he wont! did you know IL has given mick hogan the task of reducing match day stewarding to the bear minimum allowed in an effort to cut costs!!
if the performances continue and the crowds keep staying away then it will cost IL alot more over the year than it will to pay noble off!!
IL is a concerned man!!
