Just read that Mago is off to Fev along with Tony Gigot. JWH looking like he could be a replacement for him, or I’ve also heard Frizell as Batemans replacement. I’d definitely take either of them. Imagine Farrell and Frizell as our back rowers. Mouth watering stuff. Can’t see that one happening though.

Interesting if true. Mago’s season highlights package from last year would look impressive but he can’t defend with the intensity we require.



Also assume it could be an attitude thing.

I’d love to sign Frizell but wouldn’t touch JWH. The squads depth will be tested if it’s Bateman and Mago out and just one in but it does feel like we desperately need a bit more star quality in the pack, should Bateman be going.

Firstly I don't think Mago is a Championship player even in his current guise. Would be a waste of a potential asset for a SL side and he's good entertainment value.



Still believe there's a good player in him if we were to get him fit - part of me wonders whether something has emerged which means it would be next to impossible to get him fit aka George Burgess.



Also given it looks like the club want him out it makes me wonder why he had pretty much a guaranteed spot in the 17 last season.

I think the only reason we can want to move him on is because we must have someone who the coaches feel is an improvement to come in.

Do we know if its a permanent move or a loan?

Personally, I think that's the right approach. If he's better than what you have at the time then play him. If you can then move him on for someone better, then it's all good for the club.



Compare that to Lam's time and it was criminal how he didn't recall Hankinson, or use Mitch Clarke more. Now neither had a future at the club, but I'd have rather have seen Hank at centre and Faz in the pack. Likewise a choice of Clarke or Clubb should have been a no-brainer. It was even more criminal, when you factor in he flogged a load of kids instead.
