| Perhaps Ken Davy wants to reduce the amount that he bankrolls Huddersfield by.
Brough has to be their highest earner I'd have thought and he isn't getting any younger.
Brough has a C Cup medal and won the LLS so maybe he views Wigan as the best club to help him get a Grand Final gold ring.
Also if Waney succeeds McNamara as England coach perhaps Brough thinks he may stand a chance of playing for England if he transfers to Wigan.
Great these rumours aren't they!

Look into my eyes look close at the count of 10 you will give us Patrick for Hughes.
Either hypnosis or dark magic. Usually a swop deal works for both parties but here Giants have got the bad end of a decent deal.

I'm really looking forward to see us develop next year. By Wigan standards we look to be keeping a reasonably settled side next year. We've added a couple of exciting forwards, we have some excellent young players who'll get more chances and more then anything I can't wait to watch that centre pairing kick on. I don't quite know where they pulled it together from but I thought Gelling and Sarginson were sensational in the last couple of months of the season.
We'll go well again next year.

Patrick had agreed to sign for Wigan last year but the clubs couldn't agree the transfer fee.

People get home sick, Sam Burgess used to chirp on about how good Sydney is but he admitted it him self that he missed England and English people.

Rather a lot of chatter on the Parra board these last few days concerning Mossop, some say he has gone back to the UK, even saying that he has walked out.
Another interesting one is that he has turned down a 4 year deal and now we have the story about an announcement about an announcement saying that important news to be announced at 2pm has been cancelled (on another thread).
Maybe the twist could be Mossop turns down 4 year deal which would have allowed Dudson to go the other way has fallen through, hence the cancelling of the proposed announcement. I have put 2and 2 together and come up with 5, but it is a rumours and signings thread.
The Dudson part has me thinking ,it was only a couple of weeks ago he was being linked with the NRL.

| If Mossop can get back to his best form and fitness then it's a great signing, it's a really big IF though.
From Lee's POV, I'd have thought he would want to give it another season down under, because he's now cemented himself as one of the NRLs biggest flops. Fair enough people's situations change but he can't feel like he's given it a decent crack.
Guessing Taylor and Dudson will definitely be off but that still leaves Mossop, Patrick, Flower, Crosby, Clubb, Tautai and Pettybourne, plus the youngsters who need more first team game time. Surely something has to give, Eddy is the weak link in that list IMO.

Can you elaborate a bit more on the subject of Eddy being the "weak link"?

I saw that resigned comment in an earlier post and just thought it was a miss spell, makes you wonder ,
Has he re signed, then after a change of mind resigned, twists an turns.

| Not convinced on the Mossop signing if true.
We did well to offload him last year. Always on the injury list and when on the field he had very limited impact. He was awful against Australia in the World Cup, subsequently dropped and didn't play again. Then played about 2 or 3 times for the Eels and looked out of his depth.
Could we sign someone better? Probably not. Would I rather us give more game time to Sutton and Greenwood? Absolutely.

I don't think he offered much last season tbh. He was meant to be an impact forward off the bench but he provides very little. I think Tautai will be a much better option for that sort of role. Eddy had one or two decent performances but overall was pretty underwheliming. If 4 or 5 of the other props are fit I can't see where he fits in the 17.

Agreed, Pettybourne was the most underwhelming player this season for me. I can see him being dropped for quite a few games if everyone is fit and he doesn't pick things up. Having said that NRL signings do tend to fare better in their second seasons so I'm holding hope yet.

| Pettybourne needs to concentrate on playing good, simple rugby league rather then trying to bash people and trample over people.
I can't blame a lad for trying too hard but he needs to settle and get through his carries and tackle properly.

Totally disagree about his spell in oz. The eels struggled in the forwards from the start of the season and when he started playing the Eels started winning games and had a strong pack. As soon as he was injured the Eels fell away from the competition, he was outstanding in his last couple of games, the commentators couldn't get enough of him. But I also agree with your point about his injuries, this sport is punishing is he really up for more of it?

| I can see the Mossop signing going one of two ways, either his shoulders hold up and he'll be an asset to us or they won't and he'll retire. I can imagine that Wigan have had his shoulders fully assessed and there will probably be some sort of provision in his contract covering another shoulder injury. From Mossop's POV he must know that if he sustains another shoulder injury then it's probably game over.
We've put together what looks like a very good pack but i'm worried that these signings, whilst being good players, aren't really what we need. I think everyone can see that there's a hole at 6 that needs filling. Hopefully our lack of movement is because we are looking to bring Sam back in 2016.
