the crisis has certainly not been over emphasised (SW doesnt do sympathy), it is the depth of squad that we have that has covered it up.
its not rare; every year a team or two go through this kind of crisis, and its our time again. however, the way in which we have overcome it is testament to SW and his refusal to use it as an excuse. this is part of the mental strength that has stood us in stead well over the last few seasons (MM didnt use the squad well enough to engender this belief, so I will put this down to Waney on his own) |

have you listened to him over the last 3 seasons ? when asked about injury crises. he will always acknowledge the players that are unavailable but does not use this as an excuse. stating that winning would be an achievement is different to blaming a loss on injuries. its a subtle difference, but a key one i feel in ensuring that the players that turn up take on the responsibility to win for themselves, rather than feeling that a loss is OK because we have a few out. |
