Yep. Iro was never that good for Leeds IMO. Innes was a class above though.

| Some astonishing posts on this thread from people that know very little about RL.
Wigan in the mid-90s were a very fit side, any difference at all in fitness levels would be marginal. (Personally I'm not convinced that current SL players at Saints or Leeds are fitter in any event).
Leaving that aside, the Wigan forwards in both the 94 and 95 teams would be too strong for Leeds or Saints today. And as for the backs, the backs who played that day for the 94 side were very good, at least as good as any SL side today... and the 95 side is much, much better than any back division that has ever played for any team in the SL era:
Henry Paul
Jason Robinson, Va'aiga Tuigamala, Gary Connolly, Martin Offiah
Frana Botica, Shaun Edwards
No Saints or Leeds team has ever (and in all likelihood will ever) even come close to that level of quality.
Let's not forget also that the '94 side was, of course, the team that beat the great Brisbane side on their own ground in front of over 50,000 fans.
The tired attempts by Saints fans and others to rewrite history and denigrate the achievements of the great Wigan sides of the late 80s and early 90s are simply embarassing.

Agreed 100%. People put far too much emphasis on "modern advances in training and fitness" etc because Eddie and Stevo bang on about the game getting better and better and better and better...
That Wigan team of 94/95 was as good as any team I've ever seen, they were like an all star team. Full-time too obviously, they were hardly sitting on their ar$es all day getting fat. Anyone who thinks they were not as good as the Saints team of '06 or Bradford '03 due to so-called "modern advances" are talking out of their ar$e.

How many of the current Wigan / Leeds teams would get anywhere near those sides.'"
Couldn't care less about the current Wigan side, but the current Leeds side would walk all over that 90's Leeds team. It is far better now in almost every position.

Yes.
Certainly not in the (almost 60) years I have been watching Rugby League.

I wouldn't have thought that would be too controversial a statement personally.
