| Quote Grimmy="Grimmy"To be fair though, it's not been him talking about plans to move, it's other people, and they were wrong because they all kept linking him to Bath. Agreed with regards to his rugby brain, it's a shame because his speed, agility and workrate are good. However, unbelievably he's still only 22, so plenty time to develop that over the next decade or so of his career.'"
I think he'll need to improve a lot more quickly than that if he wants to attract anything in the NRL other than scorn.

| If Sargenson is off which looks quite likely we need to either promote Gildart to first choice or sign a top class centre. Gildart looks ready to be given the opportunity. I don't see the point of signing an average centre to replace him. If we promote Gildart we need to look for a utility back to cover wing, centre and full back in case of injury. I feel a top class centre would give the squad a big boost though.

| Quote Cruncher="Cruncher"I've never heard about any antics either. For me, it's the fact that we seem to hear a lot more about his plans to move on than we do any plans he may have to improve his performances to an acceptable level.
Dave O was right about Sarge some time ago. While there's no doubting his physical prowess, the guy's a complete headless chicken. He hasn't got a rugby brain at all. The number of overlap opportunities he's missed. Unless he shows some sea-change in form for the whole rest of this season - and to be honest, I don't think you can coach what Sarginson lacks - I won't be remotely sorry to see him leave.'"
The guy isn't liked by many employees of the club for a variety reasons.
Last Thursday after the defeat the players did "a Hull" and closed the dressing room door to everyone. After a short while the only player to exit and to walk off into the distance without an apparent care in the world was Sarginson.
Apparently the mood within the squad has been low for a few weeks now. Couldn't find out why this was other than than its very unusual for the squad as they are normally quite upbeat.
Gildart is already much better than Sarginson so for me his place was/is in jeopardy once ST gets back anyway.

| Yes, Gildart has done nothing wrong, in fact he's performed pretty well. Surely the "utility back cover" is Tierney?

| It will be a shame for Sarginson to go, he's only 22 so still time to improve but is he getting the right coaching at the minute? He seems to have faltered since Harris and Deacon left, he could potentially be one of the best centres in RL on his day but I think he needs proper coaching which he will get in the NRL, and I do think he will kick in and make a success of the NRL move.
On another note I can see Burgess replacing Charnley at the end of the season.

That would suit me.

| I believe Burgess is good enough for the NRL but it all depends on how much game time he gets.

| I think it depends on how he settles in, he may opt to come home early if he doesn't get much game time and if he doesn't he may not feel part of things and may want to come back.

| If Charnley does go, what about Mantellato as a replacement? Can kick goals at least.

I'd like him back too, but what will that say about "the whingin' Poms" as the colonials will have it? That SL softies simply can't hack it? First Sam then Budgie (although I'd wager some of the former's decision might well have been a little foresight as to the Kiwis imploding as they have)? Complete bull's danglies, but it wouldn't look good regardless of the actualité. Quote post="CM Punk"If Charnley does go, what about Mantellato as a replacement? Can kick goals at least.

Me personally couldn't give 2 hoots what the Aussie think.
With Mantelato he would fit the mould of a wane style winger.
