I think the overall deal we would do for Lynch would be better for the one we would do for Morley as Morley is older and would want a lot more money
Petero still got a season or 2 left
Luke Bailey would be a lot better than Morley as would LMS even though he lacks experience
Not as limited as you thought

No oldies please as we'll potentially be losing Fielden at the end of a newbie's 1-2 year deal. This means we'll be changing 2 props at once and is not good for cohesion.

That poses the question of lack of experience and leadership then
If we are going to lose Phil Bailey (probably our most experienced player and most vocal player) then we need to replace his experience and leadership qualities
If we can find these in players in other positions I agree

| Quote talulah="talulah"Being fair their ground is being built as we type - it's not a pipe dream, but you're right, they need to increase the crowd. Moving away from The Willows should help (wading through rivers of sewage is not what modern sports supporters expect), but they need to expand their marketing. I live in south Manchester and they have failed to exploit the massive potential for local support. The fat boys code at Sale/Stockport advertise round here far more.
The big Celtic crowd was for a St Helens match, and a brand new team. The real marker of their support will be matches against Wakefield half way through the year when it's tipping down with rain!'"
Their ground has NOT started the building phase yet.

In regards to the HB situation if we can learn one thing from Saints and Leeds (the two top teams in previous seasons) it’s the long partnerships they’ve had at HB- Long and Pryce- Burrow and Mcquire. If we want to win anything at all we have to look for a long term partner for Sam and let them gel. A new HB every two or three years like O’Neil, Orr, Trent isn’t the answer.'"
Exactly. We need to decide who that partner is going to be, make the signing or resigning and go with it.

Nice to see you back on form proposing the signing of yet another average foreign player.
You won't be happy until there are no British players in our team at all.

I think it is clear from the post you quote it is proposed theoretically 1 in 1 out so how would that add to the foreign contingent?

| Don't want him. No need for him.
Wait, save the cap until someone who we really want becomes available. Don't waste another overseas quota spot on an Aussie who isn't top class.
We could use the cap for a top centre or enforcer prop, in a key position we really need.

| i just dont think he is the right player for wigan at the moment. I think our back line is actually quite good in the top 5 in the comp for me (on paper).
Signing another back is a bit pointless, yes take him if its a straight swap for phelps, or if they stupid enough mathers!
But if and its a big if are willing to pay a transfer fee, please let it be for someone who will benefit the team in a position where we are short! For example the front row, we have only beaten one pack this year and that was the worst bulls pack i have ever seen!
In short signing Mcgoldrick, is a bit pointless untill our pack is at least competing

Smith scored tries in Rhinos' 2007 and 2008 Grand Final wins over St Helens and won the Harry Sunderland man-of-the-match award last year.
Leuluai, cousin of Wigan half-back/hooker Thomas Leuluai, scored the opening try in Rhinos' 34-10 win over Warriors three days ago and is another back-to-back Grand Final winner.

| He is a player i rate, but i do think there would be better options out there who will be available if they are to be using a quota spot. Assuming of course non of these players have any court rulings against there names.

Brisbane Broncos withdraw contract offer to Karmichael Hunt
BRISBANE still remain hopeful of retaining star fullback Karmichael Hunt despite playing hard-ball by withdrawing their contract offer late today.
The Broncos stuck by their round one deadline for the offer, believed to more than $1 million over three years, when Hunt failed to respond at the weekend.
Chief executive Bruno Cullen insisted the Broncos were comfortable with the offer tabled early this year but were unable to continue waiting for Hunt to pursue other options, including a lucrative rugby contract in Japan.
Talks have stalled and the club delivered the strong message they wouldn't be drawn into a bidding war for the 22-year-old.
"The time frames were not suitable to either the Brisbane Broncos or Karmichael's management and, as a club, we have had to withdraw the offer and move on," Cullen said in a club statement.

| Quote talulah="talulah"Absolutely spot on. Half the reason for our downfall recently is the turnover in players, especially at 6 & 7. Then you go and say you would like to have Dobbo??? Dobson is good, but we've already got Tommy and he's got 2 years experience at Wigan already, he's still young, still learning, getting better all the time & and could form a half back partnership with Sam T for the next 8 years.'"
I selected Dobbo cause he does the stuff Tommy can't like Drop goals, 40/20's and pressure kicks. He's the perfect example of a good scrum half that dictates play and guides his team around the pitch. No disrespect to Tommy but he doesn’t seem able to do this for us or NZ.
Tommy is a very good player but with his excellent step, good broken field running, good distribution and alright short kicking game he was made to play nine as we saw in the WC. Will he be happy to play nine tho for us?

Get him and Sam at 6 and 7 for many years to come. Lets have some stability in the halves.
