| TLs average years were under Noble. One Maguire arrived and set up an attacking structure TL excelled at 7 and 9. He was class in 2012 when we finished top and scored nearly 1000 points. He'll be great for us if he stays injury free.

| I think it'll be good for Williams to start taking on more responsibility with the long kicking game. Any halfback with an ambition to be one of the very best needs to be able to kick for field position and Williams should be aiming for that.
Him and Tommy together won't give the opposition defences a moments peace. Both can drop a shoulder and go and bury will take it right to the line.
Looking forward to seeing how it goes.

As long as he stays here...

Moto, he did tackle well but seemed to just move the ball along the line a lot, it was only midway late in the second half that he tried to take the line on and move about the line (not always stuck out wide on the left).
One instance in the first half made me smile, the Nz forwards moved the ball along the line to the left and Tommy passed it on to the centre, the commentator said " structured play is not the Nz way the play better with power up the middle.
The Aussies were by far the better team.

Yes, they were. The Kiwis had that little patch just before half-time, but overall the Aussies won at a canter.

If the rumours regarding Albert Kelly are true and where suprisingly in the hunt for another halfback which IMO could mean one of two things A Williams has had his head turned by Warrington or B Leuluai is being used as a "bit player" switching his attentions to coaching rather than playing week in week out.

Can't see a bloke who is playing as a first choice half for the Kiwis being happy moving to a club to become a bit player.

As unlikely as it sounds what else could be the reason for us to be in the market for another halfback unless the rumours of Williams leaving is true? Or perhaps the injury too MM will eat into next season?

| Jeez if Williams went and we got Albert Kelly as his replacement I think I'd curl up and cry.
I wouldn't touch Carney with a barge pole either! He's been very poor when I've seen him when you consider his billing.

Correct and he would do a good job in the NRL too.
Where have the Williams/Wire rumours come from?

One of your fans has been putting it on various Wire social media groups over the past few days (I won't name him on here). He is convinced it's happening, but as a Wire fan i'd be VERY suprised if it does. Warrington desperately need to sign a centre & winger to replace the poor standard that we currently have (Evans, Penny, Lineham). So why would they go for another halve, unless one of ours is leaving ?

| Does anyone know if there's any truth to these Williams rumours or not, seems to be a lot of smoke but can't see it myself, just don't think we'd sell him tbh, plus I don't think he'd want to leave

In the gossip round up by loverugbyleague they've said it's nonsense, which to be honest is the only sensible conclusion. Why would the club let it's hottest prospect go to it's biggest rival not long after signing a new contract? And why would Wire pay what would have to be a huge transfer fee when there are generally plenty of decent halves knocking around the NRL who would love a chance to be a big fish in a small pond and would be a fraction of the cost. It just doesn't make sense.

He would add an extra dimension to us off the bench. MM and Powell are too similar. Ie grafters but don't give much impact. Dwyer has natural pace and acceleration.
Personally feel he is exactly what we need.

I can't say I've been massively impressed by Dwyer. Sometimes it seems like he wants a ball of his own which isn't exactly great for a hooker. His decision making is also questionable. To me he seems a bit limited at the moment. Great against an open defence but far less effective against a better side. We've already got Mickey, Powell, Leuluai, Waterworth and Ganson in the squad who can realistically be used at hooker and also Shelford as back up as a last resort. I'd hardly say it's a position where we need to strengthen.

| He's defiantly the most ball greedy hooker in superleague but he does add a threat we don't carry already.
I think we'd be sensible to stick with what we have though for next season in the halves/hooking positions. We've got two players in the halves who like to take the line on and a skilful outside back line with a full back in Escare or Tomkins who should make things happen. It would seem a sensible option to feed that line up the ball as often as possible with the expectation that they'll make things happen.
Also to cut Powell's game time after the season he's just had (which is what you imagine would happen should Dwyer come in) wouldn't feel right for me. He's earned his place.

Has anybody given thought to the fact that we might be renegotiating George's contract using the saving from Crosby?
