It does feel as if they've blatantly disregarded the rules here, but then this is probably another of those daft unenforceable rules.



As GW is still under contract, Wire would have had to make Wigan their first point of contact, to see if we'd be willing to sell. There's no law against that as far as I'm aware, and this is probably the point where this little fishing trip ended.



But it's impossible to imagine that the player's agent wasn't also sounded out before any money was offered, to see if he was willing to move. And it's even more impossible to assume that said agent didn't then go and talk to his player. The problem is that none of that would be on the record, so how do you prove it happened?

Since we won the GF player's agents have been queuing up to get an improved deal for their client. Since Wigan signed George as a youngster Wire have regularly come to us with an offer to pay a transfer fee.

Of course they go on. Even if Wigan were aware it must be difficult to stop it. If a players agent goes and gets a ball park figure of what X team is willing to offer when the time comes, what can their current club do?

Can't see Williams to Wire EVER happening, either improved deal at Wigan or NRL bound, plus surely he would have to be 35+ to sign for wire so we have time on our hands

If Georges dad is already in the employment of Wire, then it seems likely that that could be the conduit for any 'nod & wink' information?

Charlie Gubb a player we were linked with a while ago has requested an immediate release from the Warriors. Would be an excellent addition to any SL squad in my opinion, hopefully ours!

I'd be surprised if we were springing for an NRL prop this late in the day, particularly as we're already quite strong in that position. Salary cap makes this one a none-starter IMO.
