I think we need to prioritise a playmaker with a kicking game and prop. BMM is a great forward though.

| I think I'm in the minority that isn't overly happy with our second row.
Bateman has had a quietist season and Faz is a very frustrating player sometimes excellent but increasingly a penalty machine whose impact again has diminished this year after starting the season very well. They also both lack the natural size our pack needs and have a very similar style.
Tomkins is damaged goods and doesn't seem capable of returning to the form he showed prior to his Union stint.
Priority signings for me are half, Prop and second row, followed by a utility back and a hooker.
Unrealistic to see all those positions covered in one off-season, however if someone of proven quality becomes available they go to the top of the list in my opinion.
We have been strongly linked with Hoffman for me though BMM is a significantly better option.

That's very harsh on Bateman. He only played 14 games because of the shoulder surgery and was still in the top 3 nominees for player of the year!

Let's be honest the competition wasn't exactly top class for that title on the individual teams performances this year.

You're right, not many senior players covered themselves in glory but to say Bateman was quiet I think is unfair. Before getting injured he was his usual hardworking self and he looked to be straight back at it when he came back into the side. All about opinions of course but I was ok with Bateman in his 14 games and the rest wouldn't have done him any harm going into pre season.
I expect him to really kick on next season.

This guy has played SoO but not since he left the Bulldogs, where he played behind a massive pack (Graham, Klemmer, Kassiano etc) but things have not gone well at the Knights, where he got dropped earlier this season.
He is a great kicker so that certainly ticks one box, but I'm not sure what else he has to offer now. He has an English father, does anyone know his background?

Who isn't these days?!
Some clubs certainly don't seem too hamstrung by the SC.
I'd vastly rather have a young half like Roberts than the likes of Hodkinson, but it's a pipe-dream anyway...

Can't say I've seen too much of Roberts, what's your opinion of him/what type of half is he?
I'd be over the moon with Hodkinson though, was playing origin only 2 years ago. Excellent kicking game and organisational skills and with his goal kicking our points difference will shoot up.

| I read an article on Hodgkinson last season and it basically said he was shot, handed over kicking duties to a rookie for a late game winning kick and has seemingly lost his confidence, has been dropped on occasions too.
Maybe coming over here will do him good and playing against lesser opponents will help him get his mojo back but I wouldn't just presume that because he's recently played origin that he will be a success over here.

Roberts: good player in my book: quick, good all round game including kicking, can play full-back too. Don't imagine he'd come to SL. though.

| I feel Roberts may be using Wire to get more cash off the Titans. Will be a great signing for Wire if they pull it off though.

Aye I read about him handing the kicking tee over, the article I read said he didn't fancy it because of the distance and he's got biscuit legs.
I agree that it shouldn't be taken for granted him being a success just because he's played origin, but we all know the standard is lower over here so I think a player of his class would run riot. Don't think he'll come though tbh.
