| Quote Mother Feka="Mother Feka"I think in a few years when maguire has hisnown squad we could be awesome with just a couple of big names- a prop and a fullback, possibly a scrum half depending on how mellor works out:
New FB
Ainscough
Gleeson
Thornley
Richards
Stomkins
Mellor/?
Prescott
Leuluai
New Prop
Hock
Mossop
O'Loughlin
Feka
McIlorum
O'Carroll
Jtomkins
Then after a few years Mossop can take over at prop Joel at 12 and Farrell on the bench
'"
I personally think Hock will come into the team as a Prop when he returns.

Quite a few people have mentioned this. He does (or did) seem like JP in his youth, a strong agile second rower. Personally I do think he will make the move to prop forward in years to come.
Just a general question - when Hock does come back - if he does - would you be happy for him to play in the Reserves for the rest of that season? Surely after 2 years out he can't be put straight back into the first team?

He would have to start in the reserves but if the club have any sense at all they will ensure he is in top physical condition when he returns. He will in effect have a 2 year off season, and will need time to get get back to match speed/prove himself, but he should physically be in fantastic condition apart from lacking match fitness.
He should not be the only one in this position though, any player who loses form/returns from injury next year should expect a spell in the reserves until they have proved their fitness.

I don't think fitness will be a huge concern with Hock. He's never been a workhorse type and I think he'll get back in the swing of things pretty quickly.
It's going to be interesting to see how he fits in if/when he does come back. I get the feeling the new regime won't stand for players mucking around away from the field and he'll have to be on best behaviour if he does want to come back.
As for his position it all depends on what we need. If the club is still in desperate need of a prop i'd be happy enough with him going in there. He'd cause all sorts of problems running around the middle.

NO, he is gash, how many times was he involved in crossing last season, it is the usual case of just above average player coming through the academy being bullled up by many fans to the point where he gets a rep without having the skill to pull it off, a certain CPW from Mikes site is guilty of such things

| I like Joel Tomkins but he isn't anywhere near as good as he could be imo. He doesn't run his weight for starters and looks a little too timid for my liking. He's a monster of a lad and if he had his brothers temprament he'd be a sensational second rower/loose forward.
I still believe he offers the side quite abit though although he didn't have the best of times last season. He seemed short of confidence early doors and never recovered. He had a fantastic second half of 2008 and hopefully can get that form back. He was a huge threat in that spell and his link up with Barrett was superb. Maybe him and his brother can strike up something similar in time.

| I think maybe some are being a little harsh on JT.
Joel was outstanding at loose at the back end of 2008, and as already pointed out, he had a great understanding with Trent Barrett.
However, he has lost abit of form but hopefully he can start running those lines and making decent yards without the silly penalties he has prone to give away.

| Barrett made him look good back end of 08.
After his finish to 08 I was really looking forward to see how he progressed in 09 but he just got worse. Did have the odd good game (leeds at home) but overall he was a penalty machine (always does dumb stuff like crossing), fair too many knock ons and was lazy in defence alot of the time.
Thank god for him he came through the acadamy or else most fans would be on his back wanting him gone.

'10 back row
Hansen
Bailey
Lockers
Mossop (for impact)
Obviously depending on pre season performances but going off last seasons form thats what I'd have
