| Quote Wigg'n="Wigg'n"Sarginson officially released by the Titans. SURELY he isn't coming back to us?
I hope he goes to Hull KR as rumoured.
'"
Add on the bit about season ending injury plus off field bother and thanks but no thanks.
To be fair to him he probably played his best stuff when he got shifted to FB but do we need another player in that position ?

| Quote Cherry_Warrior="Cherry_Warrior"Yeah i am going to disagree with that one Aboveus. I would say Sa'u stands out above Sarginson from what i have seen. Very true that Sa'u is unproven but so was Sarginson and for me is still relatively unproven. His bad games far outweigh his good ones for me. Sa'u for me has the much better potential. Also Sarginson is a trouble maker. I won't go into detail because my post will be deleted but he is.'"
Is Sa'u available?

| It all depends on Gelling really.
I wouldn’t be adverse to moving him into the pack and a new centre coming in unless he leaves obviously.
Sa’u or Sarginson, for me probably Sarginson, but in truth neither really excite me.
Sa’u hasn’t shown anywhere near his expected form in SL after his high profile arrival and at 30 him much improvement in him is there realistically?
I liked Sarginson but he is another returning potentially returning to the club with a good bit of baggage he didn’t leave us with however at 24 he still has time to develop and improve.
It does highlight the fact how valuable and rare a commodity a top Centre is if these 2 are the best in the market.

| Gelling will be back after Christmas. Sa'u is a non-starter and cannot comment on Sarge returning

Perfectly reasonable. Yes I know what you mean about Sarginson being a trouble maker, but I've never thought RL players were choirboys, and I'm happy for Waney to deal with him. By the way, Sarginson was unproven until he proved himself for England and in the Grand Final!!!! Sa'u hasn't yet and since he's thirty that puts him in journeyman category. Although I don't think he's a bad player, and if Waney fancies him then who am I to argue.

Quote DaveO="DaveO"Of course it's a policy of the club. Have you completely forgotten the lengths that IL went to to explain it when players left? Or how when players returned, particularly Sam T how he lauded the policy was working?
Here is one of many quotes that shows it is a policy:
Lenagan said: “What’s the point of fighting the competition when it’s there? “It’s far better to have a strategy that facilitates these players going, makes money for Wigan, and encourages them to come back. And I believe 50 per cent who leave for the NRL will come back to Wigan, and they’ll be better players when they do. “We already have them signed up to salaries, there are no negotiations to do."

Thanks for bothering to provide a link, but I'm afraid it proves nothing. Each player/situation is treated on merit as I've posted earlier. Otherwise we can look forward to Josh returning. Or do you think that because we've already got players in his position that he won't come back? In other words whilst Waney might like him back, we don't need him, so he won't be returning, so the 'policy' in this case isn't really a 'policy'.

Deep joy. A centre who cant pass, tackle or make a break. Just what the doctor ordered. We will walk the league now.

Yet made a ton of assists in his last year? I don't think he is what we need unless we are losing a centre (I presume we must be in order to fit him under the cap), but he's still a very good player. The game is hardly awash with top centres.
