Hull are the team to beat. Wigan are the ugly ducklings of the title challengers. Except they aren't ducklings, and they won't mature into beautiful swans. Scrap that, they are just ugly. A team carved in their coach's image.

| Rubbish.
We are still almost all bookies favourites to win the grand final and I think we will.
We have Clubb, Farrell, McIlorum, Gelling and Charley and Tautai to come back.
Disappointing result tonight but its still ours to lose and deep down any opposition fan knows that.

Blaming injuries only gets you so far... still had our regular 1,6,7 13 starting.

Give over mate ,. add Gelling , Clubb , Farrell , Charnley and possibly McIlorum to this team and add their previous final experience , makes them the team to beat . Ugly or not , they will turn up come finals time , Will Hull or Wire ?

Thanks.
Finally someone speaking sense.
Its frustrating and Im concerned about some tactics and potential bans for next week but to syggest we are in crisis and never going to win anything is ridiculous and pathetic.
Anyone other club in the league will fear playing us and we are big favorites for the treble.

| Utterly turgid attack again from Wigan. Bet the end of season dvd will be flying out of the shops. I used to enjoy watching Wigan games back but not this season - so robotic, dull and predictable. Can we have a whip round on this forum to replace Paul Deacon as attacking coach?

| We've just made the worst St Helens team I've ever seen look like world beaters.
Truly awful performance.
Not an attacking bone in their bodies.
They seem utterly incapable of playing what's in front of them, setting up "the move" is all they can do.
Whatever happened to running lines ? Dummy runners ? Backing up ?
Have they all been outlawed ?

Herm I don't think so we battered you not long ago, you where very lucky at our ground when we was finding our way as a new team early in the season, some of the games you have won the Widnes away game for instance, you was by far the worse team I think your in an inflated league position and I fully expect our pack to run over yours, your half backs can not play when the pack is on the front foot never mind been beaten, I look forward to you coming to our back yard next week don't forget Donny are our duel registered cousins lol

Wondering how the hell they were scraping wins together when they're barely averaging 20pts a game.
It's just so boring watching the same thing in every set of six.
You can't possibly be entertained watching this ?

Why is someone a muppet if they disagree with you?
Personally I wasn't surprised by tonight because effort and commitment on it's own is not sustainable and that is what we have but zero rugby ability.
A performance to forget but what disappointed me most was our usual "up for it" approach versus saints was nowhere to be seen.
I genuinely believe all the eggs from the club's perspective is the CC and anything else is a sideshow.

What is worse I still think we will win it. Fairly damming indication of the standard and also the coaching this year. Props don't make good coaches. I think TL will revolutionise us next year and Wane will continue to coach great undoubtedly great defence. From a playing and coaching point of view TL is a masterful signing.

| Typical Wane inspired Derby performance. Clearly up for it with the aggression in the tackle but clueless in every other aspect.
He says in his post match the attack wasn't good enough. Well Mr Wane it's not been good enough for 26 games. It's not news to anyone but you.
Cunningham said we could still be playing now and would not score and he is right.

Graeme West ended up a prop but his approach was refreshing and he just let the players play.
Coaches do not make great teams.

We have the best coach in the league and the best squad and we have 5 players still to come back from injury.
We will be fine, dont let opposition fans stir the pot.

| Disappointing tonight but the important game is next week. Very, very frustrating to watch but to be honest Saints were brilliant in defence. They really did their homework, slowed the game right down at any given opportunity and fully deserved their win, I think they will be a threat come September.
Our attack was woeful, we seemed to go wide too early and Saints had our set moves sussed out. More than a few Wigan players had bad games; Sarginson, Tomkins, Smith and O'Loughlin just to name a few. Full credit to Saints, they executed their plan very well (bit of credit to Cunningham for once?!). On to next week, I expect a different Wigan side to turn up.

Best coach in the league? What have you been drinking? And before you say it is an over reaction to tonight's game I have been of this opinion for some time. He does not have a clue how to fix the attack.
Watching Wigan play this season has been like watching paint dry. Maybe you view the game on the stats and so because we are where we are in the league think that makes everything rosey. Well it doesn't. It's supposed to be about entertainment as well and while scraping a last ditch win win Wakefield as we did a couple of weeks ago was exciting it just covers up the cracks, which got exposed tonight.
Unless the wheels fall of Hull in 7 days we won't be going any further in the CC IMO.
