Have they said how much he's getting?
I never thought Rooney was the type to back down so quickly, unless that's what he always planned to do. Perhaps he is so thick skinned that he was prepared to take all of the flak he's received in the last couple of days to get an extra £50k per week? Perhaps he's just being playing hardball and is happy to let Fergie be seen as winning the battle as long as he gets the contract he wants?

I reckon Rooney's just a thick tvvat and was whining over nothing. United know he's a thick tvvat, bullied him into signing a new deal but leaving a move open for Rooney if Citeh cough up the £70m they want.
Citeh, being the daft tvvats they are, will offer the £70m and pay Rooney they same they'd have been paying him if he'd walked away in a cut price deal.
Jose will probably manage United at some point, but not so soon that it played any part in thhis deal. |
