Mentioned this several pages ago, Mancunians RL only play in the summer league and I've shown enough interest to travel to their very nice ground in Chorlton cum Hardy (home of Broughton Park RU) and actually play against them!!

Given your claim of union's massive global reach, why is the new SANZAR deal worth $145 million per country for 5 years (ie. Australia, South Africa and NZ) and the NRL's is likely to be about $1 billion for all of one country for 5 years?

A guy from the year above me in 6th form seems to be doing well at Stade Francais, he's played a few games this year and played for England U20s recently too. Someone from my year is at Leeds Carnegie as well IIRC, and scored for them in the Twickenham Sevens last year.

There are plenty of RL teams in debt.

And who said the whole game of union is in a mess?

The difference is that HMRC aren't chasing unpaid tax from those "two biggest football teams".



Debt, per se, is not a problem. It's debt that you can't repay that is the issue. Granted, HMRC are getting more tetchy with sports clubs over unpaid tax but issuing a winding-up order isn't exactly the first step they take to reclaim what they're owed.

I would very much doubt that this statement from HMRC is a significant threat to [iLondon[/i Wasps in any way. The mention of a planned new stadium in High Wycombe would suggest they certainly aren't worried by the financial situation they find themselves in.
