Syd Waddell is the legend.

I'm afraid he isn't, and the sooner he realises it the better for all the people who just want to watch the darts without listening to some geordie spouting cliches and ridiculous sayings.

Lighten up, he is pure comedy gold. You can't understand what he says half the time, which makes it more funnier!

He used to be a great character but he spends more time trying to think of something stupid to say rather than offering any rational insight into whats actually happening. I don't need to lighten up,he just needs to realise that the games about the 2 blokes up there on the oche and not him. I honestly think he does the game a disservice.

To be brutally honest, all the commentators spout random stuff from time to time, it all adds to it IMO - good stuff.

I see The King got hammered by Barney last night.

Barney would have hammered Taylor the way he played last night - awesome

Great night again at the Arena for the darts.



Had a bet on King but Barney was awesome, think we counted 3 missed darts at doubles. Didn't think King played that badly but he just wasn't getting a go at finishes.



Also 167 & 170 finishes during the night. Pity we only saw 7 perfect darts though. Ah well, maybe next year!

Loved Thursday night, it was quality, eventhough my mate did make me miss the first 3 legs of the night as he managed to drive straight past the MEN and got lost.

I think King has been the surprise package of the tournament personaly.

He was scoring well against Barney,but Barney himself was on an awesome form.

Wonder if him and Robert Thornton will be the last ex-BDO players to make an impact for a while. Do not think Gary Anderson has the right temprement and work ethic (especially winning early games in players tournament games to gain ranking points) and Mark Webster is a bit hit or miss and not sure he has the real killer instinct needed.



Of the rest at the BDO I think Scott Waites could make an impact if he moved in a few years but with the PDC producing their own promising youngsters the gap between the two might get bigger and bigger and PDC will not be actively trying to tempt players accross.

Simon Whitlock has joined the PDC now too

It was only a matter of time before he jumped the BDO ship. Waites next.

What's the total years prize money in a year for the BDO and the PDC as I was thinking with all the top BDO players switching,an average PDC player could maybe make more money switching to the BDO and start winning events instead of losing in the early rounds in the PDC.

With Whitlock gone as well now it's getting closer ....
