What do you make of Ian Thorniley going to Sale.

Obviously I would have liked to have kept hold of him just in case he did develop into a quality player. Reading some of the Sale message boards they are over the moon without actualy knowing too much about him. Contrary to statements I've heard from Sale and some union supporters, he hasn't actually played first team at Wigan. Charnley and Marsh are both regarded as better prospects than Thornley, who in my opinion had his eye on union a while back. You can't blame the lad really though, can you? Your university fees paid, a big pay rise and a better prospect of first team action next season. One thing that I don't understand is why Wigan are still playing him in the u20s. Surely that place would be better going to someone who will be with the club in the future rather than someone who will off to another club in a few months time.



People saying that this is just the same as when league took players from union but in reverse are slightly wrong I think.

I can't see any rugby league clubs ostracising players for changing codes, banning them from club events, blacklisting them from party and function invite lists, removing their names from club records or scratching out their faces on pictures/photos in the clubhouse.

What is it with this French yawnion team.

The shirts they have been producing for the last few years are shocking,have the designers been on the p155.

And have got them an enormous amount of free publicity.

As much a a dislike yawnion, I applaud the Stade shirts if it upsets some of the RFU types.

You know the best thing about rugby union shirts? The sponsors. They never seem to have local bathroom suppliers that no one has ever heard of. In the main, they are big multi national companies. Very impressive.
