Always a great result to see the Leafs down the Frenchies especially on their home ice

The 3rd goal was quality aswell. Kessel gets the puck deep in the leafs defensive zone, looks up and fires a perfect pass between two habs dmen to Stagen. He contoled the bouncing puck perfectly, and fires an unstoppable shot into the top right hand corners. A brilliant goal and one of the best the leafs have scored this season.



After a shocking start the leafs are looking very competative again. I am a glass half full man, so it would not surprise me if they manage to finish 8th in the East and sneak into the play offs.

Great news for the Hawks as Toews, Kane & Keith agree & sign long term extensions to their contracts, the new Stan Bowman GM era is now up and running.

Yep they certainly are, work starts at Fenway today ready for the Bruins V Flyers on January 1st.

Bit risky isn't it, as the weather generally isn't great up there at that time of the year is it.

The game is the Winter Classic which the NHL have been doing once every year since 2008 Sabres V Pittsburgh at Ralph Williams Stadium NY, 2009 Blackhawks V Redwings at Wrigley Field Chicago.



The predecessor to the Winter Classic games was the Heritage Classic which took place in Edmonton and was the Oilers V Montreal

The Hawks blank a team for the second game running giving St Louis the Blues with 3-0 win. Huet getting the second shut out out for the Hawks in as many games after Niemi blanked the Bolts.

Hawks beat the Wings 3-0 with Huet getting his second consecutive shut out turning away 20 shots. Good win for the Hawks even if the Wings are suffering with injuries, always good to beat them no matter.

The Hawks fans have chanted 'Detroit sucks' at games for years and for the first time in a long time they actually do suck this season.Partly due to injuries but having 2 average at best n/m's doesn't help.

Sharks rob the Hawks to take the lead in the Eastern Conference. Naborkov has the game of his life in stopping the Hawks turning away 45 shots on the Sharks net in a game the Hawks outshot the Sharks 47 to 14. Huet playing after to consectutive shut outs had a fairly weak night between the pipes.

The Blackhawks move to the top of the Conference standings and the League standards as they beat the Predators 4-1 & 5-4 in home and home games taking a clean sweep of the Predators 4-0 and moving 8pts ahead of them in the Division.



Its been long time since the Hawks have led the conference let alone the league, lets hope it continues and Quenneville can end the wait for Lord Stanley this season, still a long way to go yet but good to see the Hawks improving every year.

I watched the game last night online and Kane just seems to get better and better,he's turning in to the go to guy more than toews.I'd watch out for the Canucks come playoff time,after the Hawks game i watched them easily beat the Flames in Calgary.

Huet has a mare letting in 4 goals from 10 shots before being pulled by Quenneville as the Hawks get beat in Dallas 5-4 by the Stars.

Just watched Boston beat Philly in this years winter clasic in Fenway park.I still think it looks strange playing in a baseball stadium as last year did.Part of the fans are 20 feet away while others are 150+ feet away.It looks much better played in a football stadium like it was in Buffalo a couple of years ago.

Hawks beat the rampant Devils 5-1 totally dominating them after taking control of the game in 2nd period. Huet making up for his poor performance earlier with a great display in the net.



Hawks follow up the win against the Devilswith another strong performance against the Blues and their new coach Davis Payne after relieving Murray of his head coaching duties beating them 6-3.



The Hawks carry with good solid play taking down the Ducks 5-2 with Anti Niemi having another good game between the pipes.
