Walcott is vastly overrated.

Arshavin and Rosicky are pretty decent players, i'll give you that.

This season, Carragher. And from what I've seen so far he's quite possibly better than Skrtel and Agger as well. From this thread, it seems that many Liverpool fans are blind to how monumentally poor Carragher has been this season.



Walcott is overhyped I agree, but still a good player when fit. He's certainly a more dangerous player than Kuyt IMO, who aside from work rate doesn't offer a great deal to a top 4 side.



The thing is, before the season kicked off it was almost unanimously thought that Arsenal's was the top 4 place under threat from big-spending Man City, due to what people perceived as the weakest squad. As it's turned out, they're now looking stronger than last year's runners up whom they finished 14 points behind with just miniscule changes to their team. So is it Arsenal's players overachieving this year, or simply their emergence and Liverpool's overachievement last season?

What about Sagna? you not putting him in the squad!?

That would be my team made up of last season's top 4 on form this season so far.

I dont like Sagna, I think he can be caught out quite easily at times.

Hence the placing of Carragher on the bench, he has been fantastic for Liverpool and is a fantastic defender but his form has dropped and he knows it. On his day Carra can quite easily be up there with the likes of JT.

Just like Johnson.

I thought that was basically what I had said in my previous post? We've got some fantastic indiviudals but that our squad depth is poor?

Am I missing something with Vermaelan? Seen him outjumped by a Blackburn player who's name escapes me, to score and has kept about 2 clean sheets all year. And leaving Fabregas out is pretty harsh.

I'd rather Skrtel, Agger, Carragher and Gallas than Vermaelan.

Reina, Johnson, Agger, Mascherano, Gerrard and Torres would get into Arsenal's XI.

Liverpool haven't conceeded less than Chelsea since 2001. Liverpool's best defensive performances haven't been as good as Chelsea's over a season. Chelsea's best defence over a season has been a great deal superior to anything Liverpool have been close to.



Liverpool like to go with FACHTS. The fact is that for all the jerking off over Reina and Shay Given, they've both let in nearly twice as many goals as Cech.

I see that yet more Gerrard diving has gone on without comment or criticism from the press.

So a goalkeeper is judged by how many goals he lets in?







You'd better tell Chris Kirkland that every single goalkeeper in all the British leagues was better than him 2 weeks ago.

The problem with Liverpool's defence was this time last year they were settled.



We had Aurelio Agger/Skrtel Carra Arbeloa. This year we've had to incorporate 3 or 4 new defenders into the squad. Never good is it?

Saves per shots on target would be more relavent.

There are many different factors to consider. But when year after year one keeper conceeds less than another, it is fair to say the one conceeding less is the better keeper.







2 weeks ago every keeper in Britain did perform better than Kirkland. 90% of keepers in the British leagues would admit that even after that performance, Kirkland is a better keeper than them.







No, he was poor. But even after that poor performance, he's still done considerably better than Reina or Given this season.

Reina isn't better than VDS or Cech, too many calamity moments. Johnson, Torres and Gerrard would walk into Uniteds team.

VDS, Foster, Kuszczack.

O'Shea, Neville, Rafael, Brown, de Laet, Fletcher, Carrick, Brown, Vidic, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Fabio, Giggs.



Each one of those has played in our back 5 this season, yet we've still got the second best defence in the Premier League to date, conceeding only three more than Chelsea, despite all of our problems.

makes no difference when forming a back four...PMSL.

Brad Friedel is probably the best 'keeper IMO. VDS flaps far too much when crosses come in, Cech hasn't looked anywhere near as good as he was in his first couple of seasons, and he too flaps too much when a ball comes into the area.
