Doesn't really matter with these two in charge. We won't be taking any steps forwards with H&G, so if Rafa stays or goes, it doesn't really matter. It's harsh on Rafa, but that's the nature of the beast in today's sport. I've always regarded us as 'different' in that sense, but all tradition has gone from our club.

Thanks for the memories Rafa. I'm not a worshipper like a lot of Liverpool fans but he's had some good times at Anfield but last seasons backpedal despite retaining a large amount of his previous seasons team made me have a rethink about him. Cutting through the bol!ocks of blaming everything on losing Alonso and other injuries doesn't particularly wash with me as the season we got 86 points, Gerrard and Torres started together about 16 times in the league. The facts were that we declined due to Rafas tactics and poor buys (some of which he couldn't particluarly help with the money at his disposal) as well as injuries etc.

Rafa was a massive reason Torres came.



Also we have no money unless we sell, the club is fccuk why would they want to stay? and what top manager would want to come to here with the set up of crap owners and debt.



Its only going to get worse alot worse.



The clueless biffs will be jumping up and down now he's gone.



Like him or not Rafa gave us the best 5 years we have had in ages and it will be another 20 before we get anywhere near what we have seen under him.

Rafas LFC career started downhill when he took fergie on with his facts. Crying an almost shatting yourself on national tv probably made him look a bit daft in the dressing room and probably lost alot of respect. Im gutted hes leaving though.

4 in 6 years compared to Benitez's 2 in 6 years. Only 'tards would include Super Cups and Charity Shield in the trophy hauls.



Benitez's was clearly better IMO. He won the Champions League compared to Houllier's UEFA Cup. That's like comparing the league to winning the league cup. They both had 1 FA Cup win. Houllier won 2 league cups more than Benitez, while you accept a LC win it's not exactly earth shattering. And Houllier probably wouldn't have got the better of Mourinho if he'd have faced him in a LC final either.



Benitez was also runner up in a CL final as well. Benitez only had one season Liverpool looked true title challengers, but he did make LFC one of the most feared sides in the CL.

Well he has gone, I think it can only be a good thing for the club. It was time for a change but its also time for the yanks to move on ASAP

Officially gone. I would say the only option (unless Hiddink comes which is unlikely) is King Kenny until the new owners arrive. No sane mananger would take the Liverpool job knowing that the new owners may not want to keep them.

Dalglish and Rush in temporary charge until new owners come along and appoint their own manager according to some Liverpool journalists.

It will be Sammy Lee for a while. Then it will probably be Joe Kinnear
