Termagant - Been waiting for some time to see this filly of Kevin Prendergast's return to the track, she's an unbeaten (2/2) daughter of fast ground specialist Powerscourt who made her debut in a hot looking fillies race at Leopardstown when easily beating Coolmore's useful filly Cabaret by 2 lengths. Stepped up in grade and relatively unconsidered at 16/1 she took the premier Juvenile Fillies race in Ireland the Moyglare Stud Stakes by 2 1/2 lengths on rain softened ground. The form of the last named race is working out very well with the beaten horses including 1000 Guineas placer Gile Na Greine and Musidora Stakes runner-up Gold Bubbles both from the stable of Jim Bolger. Prendergast thinks that Termagant will be better on a sounder surface and will be using this as a prep for the Epsom Oaks - she looks to have a touch of class to my eye and can do the same double accomplished by Aidan O'Brien's crack filly Imagine earlier this decade.

Dynasty - Not the O'Brien first string but a very interesting contender is this son of Danehill Dancer. He took a while to get the hang of the game as a 2yo when placing 2nd to useful performer Gibraltar Blue at Fairyhouse on soft ground before chasing home 3yo group scorer Chabal and aJohn Oxx's Behtrani (Noll Wallop in behind) in a conditions race at Leopardstown next time out (won by Dylan Thomas in recent years). He ran far better than it looks on paper when 8th of 22 to todays rival Oasis Dancer in a very valuable sales race at Newmarket (3rd of 13 in his groupd, the first two are Group 1 winner Albert Nobel and impressive Ascot listed winner Society Rock) before he was an impressive odds-on winner of a Dundalk at the end of October with subsequent winners in behind. His season return came in the Tetrach Stakes (to todays rival Free Judgement) at the start of the month - he was a fast finishing second that day and his running style indicated that he'd be better off for the step up to a mile and with the O'Brien horses improving a lot for their debuts in 2010 he looks a very solid each-way selection.

Interesting that she shares the same sire Dubawi as Makfi, fingers crossed it handles the fast ground like they did.

Lady Darshaan quick ground filly 40/1!? Nowhere at Newmarket due to soft ground and poor draw. Apparently the filly has improved nicely and Hughesy riding today is on fire at the moment. When last rode her was just touched off over a mile at Ascot and was unlucky that day. Hughesy going back to the Curragh just for the one ride on Lady Darshaan and could be a good each way bet here. 40/1 only with Hills by the way.
