I said before kick off if we lose by 12 we will have done well and I based that on both teams prior performance. Whether Warrington thought they only had to turn up I don't know but we beat them in every aspect. Well done from everyone a proper team performance and I hope CC plays the same team next Friday.

Who was the Wire number 7 ? Somebody said it was Gareth Widdop, played like a championship half back whoever it was.

I didn't expect that win it baffles me sometimes when they can grind it out why they can't do it every week, let's hope they have come out it unscathed and gain the confidence for next week

TRB commented at the end of the game that we had just beaten a virtually full strength Warrington side and I then pointed out that they were only missing Chris Hill at which Belly said "And Widdop". I pointed out to him that Widdop had played and Belly replied that he hadn't seen him

Such a radical improvement from the Hull KR game. Thought Jowitt was class, especially in first half.



Hope the players that came in today keep their places for next week With Walker, Green and Dave back for Cas.

I’ve come away pleased with Jowitt, Walker shouldn’t be played if Jowitt is fit.

The man to man marking/sliding defence was excellent they've obviously been putting the work in off the field. How good was to see TJ in full flight have I missed that.

I don't know what more max could do week on week out to get a regular spot. Never let's the side down.

Tackling was superb today. I feared we did a lot of it in the first half, and that it might catch up with us in the second half, but we kept at them for 80 minutes.

I thought the same and there was a period in the 2nd half it looked like that was the case but the lads rallied and put on a right shift. Love the wins based on pretty Rugby but theres something special about winning a game through sheer determination to win the collisions and put the big hits in.

The games where you least expect victory are better than any "run of the mill win" and boy oh boy, this was so unexpected.

Although our offence is still a bit scratchy, our defence, to a man was magnificent, absolutely magnificent.



To restrict a star studded Wire side to just one try was a superb effort.



The two centre/wing partnerships seemed to work much, much better than the KR game and the forwards offered some real threat, special mention for Ashurst, who, for me, was the best forward on the pitch.





It's certainly give the coaching staff a few headaches when others return from fitness and TBF, I'm not sure that anyone should be replaced for next week, unless there are any new injury concerns.



We should stick with the 17 that out played one of the favourites for the title - MAGNIFICENT

An outstanding performance from 1-17.

The lads I stand with - we all picked a different MOTM - which shows the application they all put in.

I've not seen a performance like that for a long time.....

Made the (its always our year) Wire look very ordinary.

Same team v Cas.....

Excellent win today. I expected a big scoreline against us after the HKR game. Thought our defence was excellent today. Some of Warringtons tactics were dubious. Don't get the appealing for a penalty at most tackles. Their physio spent most of the game in their defensive line, I expected him to start tackling our players at one point.

Thought he was heir best player





Also, how many dives did they put in, trying to milk penalties - this is definitely an area of the game that needs dealing with.

I detest the cheats in football and we can certainly do without it in our game.

I was expecting a performance and I didn’t think a win was impossible but I did think it unlikely. Not so much to do with us I just had Warrington pinned as the best side after Saints and tbf I still think they are.



I never think we can’t win, that mentality I never understand.

The winning word today was attitude, someone mentioned earlier regarding our edges defence being a lot better, it was and I’m when I watch it back that the main reason was how the middles moved over to assist, looking forward to the stats especially the missed tackles, it was a pleasure to see this today. Great team work.

Excellent 17 man performance, a great win...the best 80 minute defensive I’ve seen from us for a long time!



Did I think we’d win...not really, not with how Warrington played last week but thought we’d give it a real good go as we responded well last season in our first home game after a disappointing start.



Do we stick with the same 17 at Cas? I don’t think it’s as simple as you can’t change a winning side...we have to remember it’s a short 5 day turnaround and on the heavy pitch today and the big defensive effort it will have taken a lot out of the middles. We don’t play anyone unless they’re 100% fit but if the likes of Fifita, Green and Crowther are they come in to freshen the pack up...it’s as simple as that! Jowitt should keep his place for sure.



This season we need to use the squad in the right way and keep players fresh...am hoping Westerman going off and not returning wasn’t anything to do with injury because I thought he was immense today and will be a real key signing for how we do this year!

Someone’s mentioned on the other forum that Westerman went off after injuring his shoulder. Don’t know if true, but if so hopefully not serious. He looked great today along with the other new boys Pitts & Josh Wood.

Westerman definitely had a problem with his shoulder.

I was talking about the outstanding performance of our 17.

I echo the typical Trinity comment from earlier but hope we don't get carried away for Cas next week and do another typical Trinity thing by not turning in a repeat performance when we most want them to and when the fans have turned out en masse



Also I don't know why the comment range from the extremes of how bad we are when we lose to how good we are when we win - the truth is somewhere in the middle

I want to give credit to our groundskeeper because the pitch was in excellent condition and stood up to the game much better than I expected.

IT sounded like our defense was awesome
