| Quote Pat Bateman="Pat Bateman"Remember Jon Molloy a few years ago, he was a solid second rower, then one Boxing Day I thought he was a new signing. Molloy was a top player in the making - was certainly one of our best when he dropped off.
I thought it was a health/injury issue that led him to retire early??

| Quote PopTart="PopTart"I personally wouldn't make Crowther a prop.
I'm sure he could do a job but his best future is in the back row imho.'"
That’s not the issue is it. If we can’t get more props and we do get injuries and can’t get a loan player someone has to play there. Unless Aydin can make a huge step up then Crowther has to be the most obvious choice, ditto Westerman.
Nobody is claiming it’s ideal but you have to have options, they are your options.

I agree, Fifita needs a stunning pre season because if he plays like he did last year Kyle Trout will look like a god by comparison.
I think people are assuming Fifita can regain his 2017/18 form, even for a dedicated player that’s a big ask, is Fifita dedicated?

| Quote Big lads mate="Big lads mate"Played prop at scholarship but John Kain said he was a 13, myself personally think he wants more bulk to be an affective prop with his height where as someone like Batty are shorter and stocky.'"
I’d not have mentioned him tbh but this season he looks to have bulked up a lot. Obviously you know far more about him than me but watching him this season he now looks a genuinely intimidating player. Imo easily big enough now to prop, However if that’s not where he wants to be I get it. That said I wouldn’t be the least bit worried if he was named a prop in a game, very versatile player.
He’d have a flush then, LF, SR, Hooker and prop, not bad going for a young player.

Tbh from what I saw of JC last season, he was already running the ball in like a prop at times down the middle so there is no doubt in my mind he could play there if called upon. As you say really put some bulk on and more often that not he wins the collision, also has an offload game.
Think we have a couple of players that fit into that category of could do a decent job at Prop when you look through the team, hopefully though as we said before if we can bring another in the chances of us having to do so is limited.

Yeah Molloy was a strange one, he was rated highly as a young lad and showed glimpses as to why when he was with us, for some reason he left a few clubs under mysterious circumstances and he seemed to just fizzle out here, I am sure he spent a couple of years under contract without playing a game, not sure what happened to him.

Molloy had to retire due to a knee issue I think. Last I heard he was a personal trainer.
