I saw the club were contributing some hefty amount and I think it includes a new larger electronic scoreboard also.



I think this is one of the reasons the club are cutting the cloth with little wiggle room. It’s got to come from somewhere. I’m confident that once the stand is complete and refurbishment there will be better times ahead on and off the field. It should hopefully allow for a much more professional environment.

DS/Anyone else...do we know if they are going to replace the Donny Rd turnstiles as part of the upgrade ?? ...I've driven past a few times this week and just can't help thinking what a b*gger it would look if we don't !!

I don’t know if anyone else has read the document I referred to a few days ago, but having read the section “Contract Sum Analysis “ it appears that several things have been downgraded or removed from the original planning application. I’m no expert on these things, and I hope I’ve not misunderstood, but MC said quite recently the £10 million budget six months ago, now spiralling to £13 million today. As for the turnstiles, the document shows £20.000. for turnstiles, not sure which ones are being replaced.

But that wouldn’t require the building coming down, just new turnstiles?



As far as I can see the existing turnstiles are all still on the new plans.

Might not need to change them but if I was designing I would.

They at least need a change to the frontage.its a key visual as you approach the ground, or even drive past.

I'd also make some new gates a la the Anfield gates with a fancy fleur de lis Wakefield badge. Good enough that people will want to take a photo infront of it when they come to Belle Vue.

So would I but if something had to give that would be first on the list. It’s something that could easily be tackled later. That said I can’t tell whether it’s staying or going tbh.

I’ve looked again at the Facebook page, and it’s now showing the photos, yes some of them have been posted before, but these are the latest and probably the last ones taken before demolition starts. In my opinion these will be historical images and deserve a wider audience. Thanks for posting them PT.
