if I was new to the game and seen the shudds v cat match for first time I'd doubt I've never watch another, personally I'm hanging in on hope they somehow make this game more entertaining,

its no wonder the crowds are leaving

Watched it with a mixture of Yorkshire club fans. Very high intensity which made it exciting but skill levels were very low.

Shudds lost. Whats not to like.

Think the 'borefest' is more out of frustration, that we were that shat, that we couldn't beat Shudds but Catalan worked them out no problem and did what they had to do.

I think it's called 'game management'.

I wish that Trinity could have been in that borefest and made it into the semi final.

And Wembley certainly wouldnt be boring

that was close to the worst game I have ever seen today - to think we got beaten by that side that last today twice in a row does not hold out much hope for us in the top 8 this year.

Add to that we got walloped by an even worse side in Salford.





The glimmer of hope is that Chester has been "forced" to play some of the younger lads.

Why is playing the younger lads a glimmer of hope anybody would think we were miles adrift at the bottom.

Catalan wont be in the bottom 4.

Widnes & KR looked nailed on and its any 2 from 4 (possibly 5, if Leeds dont turn things around) and Trinity, like it or not, are in the mix.

The good news is that we are in the box position but, another win for Catalan and Huddersfield and we will feel their breath on our necks ,ugh !

And if we beat both then we'll probably be in the top 8. Glass half full here.

But we play both of these again, so it's in our own hands.

I’d ask the same of you, your love in obsession with Catalan is both odd and tedious - o see absolutely nothing but a bit of a purple patch. Why not just concentrate on your own team instead of over egging the form of one of SL worts teams.

Think we need to win 3 from 8, that should see us into top 8. I'm sure we will do it and if we don't we will just have to fight it out. That's sport.

I'm really hacked off that we @saved ourselves@ for a league fixture with Huddersfield ,which we duly lost at the expense of Huddersfield and the original question was valid (at least in my humble opinion).

Usually most Trinity fans (myself included) would be happy whenever Leeds get beaten and especially by a side that was close to the bottom of SL.

However, as per the thread title, with their result against Leeds, I wasn't sure whether to be happy that Leeds had lost (default position) or concerned that one of the clubs, not too far behind us in the league, were making ground.

I know that you stated that Catalans were not in decent form (despite them now winning 5/7 or 6/7)

but, it seemed a fair question.

By throwing the cup came, we've also given Huddersfield a leg up but, thats life and time will tell whether that was a mistake.

Although like others, I enjoy the away fixture to Perpignan and I think that they add something to the competition, rather than say, Leigh or whoever else but, I am a Trinity fan, 1st, 2nd and last and if we cant share our views on an open forum, it's a poor show.

Bojo is right tho. We've been so dire recently and unable to beat a very poor hudds side.

Opinions are just that you either agree with them or you don't, i don't have any problems with your post other than the above sentence are you seriously in the opinion that we threw the cup game against shudds?.

Yeah, threw was a bit strong but, taking account of our opposition and the hole they had been in, it was our worst performance of the season Chester was certainly prioritising the league fixture, which I know isn't the same as throwing it but, it left a sour taste.

After all, Trinity are more unlikely to win the GF but, with just a bit of luck, they could reach Wembley





With the top 8 SL sides entering the cup so late, you only have to win a few games and just look at the draw that Catalan now have.

I take your point but it was still near to his best squad depending on opinion of course, personally i'm of the opinion that it was more to do with us being rubbish on the night and them being slightly better than anything chester said on the night.

It wasn't what he said on the night, more the pre match press conference when it was crystal clear that the League game was seen as being far more important.

Mind you, he was right to say that he thought that we had enough to beat them but, the players never got off the team bus.

We were totally out enthused by a bang average Huddersfield side.



Anyway, that boat has sailed and ironically, we are now concentrating on the league.

Very hard to forecast anything just now with some teams suffering horrific injury problems. Last year Cas were very lucky injury wise and coasted to the league leaders shield but have suffered but this year we've lost a lot of our most instrumental players. The top 3 teams however seem to have escaped relatively injury free.. still think you'll make the 8 though.
