from what i hear its brough who is been saying he is off to hudds and that chairman is buying him a bmw. if this is true, it doesnt sound like he wants to stay to me. wouldnt surprise me if its brough and his manager starting the rumours to bump his price up. its all a big game to some.

ATEOTD we have made Danny an offer which matches his initial request. In most cases it never gets to that stage, but there are occasions when it does - or even exceeds the original offer. In Danny's case the offer is there, it is what he asked for and, more importantly, it is at the limit of what we can afford for him / what we we think he is worth.



We are not there yet - but there will come a point when the offer has to be withdrawn and alternatives found. If that day arises then it will be due to Danny's desire to move on. There are of course plenty of smaller discussions within the bigger one, but again they will become exhausted at some stage.

exactly i just hope he keeps his mind on the job, i have a feeling he wants the club to sell him hence the contract rejection, and i worry he will be unhappy if he does'nt get what he wants. although he will still need to play well to get a ggod offer at end of his contract.

I suggest you get particularly worried about the threat of a player leaving if you feel they are a) irreplaceable or b) they are so pivotal to team performance that the remaining players could not operate to SL standard without him. In DB's case I do not believe he is irreplaceable (even within the budgetary parameters his departure would generate, although the time for recruitment would be a challenge if starting from scratch) and the experience last year showed me that our best team performances didn't involve DB.



Whatever the outcome of this issue, I come to the same conclusion as TRB, the club will certainly go on, and I would go as far to say may actually see an improvement in fortunes.
