Tut, I've read it now and will have to re-read tomorrow. Bit like knowing what you're getting for Xmas. Eric Ashton and Billy Boston in the same team,how lucky were Wigan.Ashton was and still is one of the classiest players i have ever seen.Must be hard trying to find news at the moment but somehow you always seem to find something.Still no news on the Doyle or has he fell out with somebody?Thanks for giving us a Monday read Wilf.

Your usual great effort Wilf. Its always a pleasure to read on a Monday morning and there's always something which catches my eye. Your report of the match against Wigan included the name of George Mathews and (if my memory is not failing) I recall him scoring a hat-trick against Featherstone in the 1959 Challenge Cup semi-final which led to us facing Wigan at Wembley (my first visit to the twin towers). That semi-final was at that point the highlight of my FC experience even more than the championship finals of the previous 3 years. We don't seem to be enjoying the same experiences at the moment but I'm sure our time will come again. Lets all keep the faith!!.
