you mean like i said that Hoy was disappointing and i had seen more from Litten in a 20 minute stint at full back than Hoy.
Your wig flew off in rage but whats your opinion now?
I am a fan of Chris Satae but his defence tonight was poor. The game is also about defending and his defensive effort wasnt there.

| Quote Chris71="Chris71"Hard to argue with much of your post. Was a deserved win that was earned by effort & hard work as a team. Some very good performances by some individuals and some not so brilliant too.
Good to see us finally playing & kicking smarter and getting some repeat sets off the back of that.
Think the changes at half time bringing Trueman & Dwyer on seemed to unsettle us a little and take us time to get reorganised.
Think the FB position is Littens to lose, on current form Hoy has to bide his time to get back at in at 1. Though that’s fir Smith to manage in terms of what’s best for the team and a young player.
Really struggle to understand what we do so differently to the opposing teams when it comes to 6 agains
'"
It was a deseved and well earned win particularly as we are carrying three or four players who would not get anywhere near a place in most other S/L teams.
Seriously how does Lane keep his place?

| What a win and I said if we keep Wigan to 16 points or less then we win regardless !
That win was just what we needed and yes we can 100% secure league safety at Wakey next week then beat Cas in the Cup
Clifford was class and Mint was super
Lane - mentioned many times in this thread - made 1 metre in the 2nd half
Missed tackles on 8 mins and late in first half - the 8th minute miss alarmed me greatly as well as the lack of metres in the 2nd half
Why can’t we coach him to perform better ?

| Really pleasing performance in the conditions and great to get the win against the club at the top of the league on a good winning run. I thought we'd blown it when we fluffed that chance near the end and Wigan matched up field but the players found that extra energy to hang on. We asked for more commitment and effort and we've had that in spades in the last two games.
Clifford was excellent, Litten once more showed what a fine prospect he is, Houghton again rolled back the years and Trueman though obviously rusty came up with that important play in the last minute.
Hopefully Hoy is back next week. Personally I'd have him at full back and Litten on the wing.

Agree on the Litten point. It strengthens us on the wing. Hard to believe he's only a teenager.

Thought Clifford was excellent and big raps for Sutcliffe as well.
Hoy is our full-back, back he comes.

| Well worth rising at the crack of dawn to watch this match. My man of the match was Houghton with over 50 tackles including the try saver on French. His positioning to be where he was to affect the tackle was superb.
Loved the contribution by Lee Briers on the broadcast team - currently he is an assistant coach at the Brisbane Broncos who currently lead the NRL ladder and he confided that he coached Houghton when he played in an under 9's team. Said even at that age he was a player with loads of energy who never gave up.

What is ‘officially posted” and how many were actually in attendance are two different entities at Hull.
About 6,500 there last night tops.

| Houghton benefitting not playing every minute of every game, he even got a five minute breather last night but we needed him. Tag benefitting from any injury free run looks like his old self, Sutcliffe great signing, Clifford best game for me apart from a few kicks, Cam Scott maturing by the week, Griffin has been very good in 2nd row this season IMO.
Big Chris and Ligi getting better by the week as is Carlos now he's getting fully fit. Litten very good again think he will go to the wing when Hoy back tough decision for Smith tbh. Trueman great play at the end to sacrifice himself. Cator and Fash outstanding workloads like always.

| Another gutsy home win and will deserved, Wigan far from their best but we managed to just about cope with what they were throwing at us.
Clifford starting to guide us round the pitch, two clutch plays and a smart decision going for two won us the game in the end. As already mentioned Sutcliffe was brilliant, I also thought Sao really dug deep yesterday.
On a negative note, I thought Lane was poor yet again, not sure what he really offers? Mcintosh is just void of all confidence, this may be harsh but how it didn't score in the corner in the 2nd half is beyond me, and to then throw it to the fastest player on the pitch in french was anything said regarding Swift?
Anyways, its another two points we will happily take.

| Enjoyed last night, and we did to Wigan, what Wigan have done to so many teams in the past. Gritty, full of character and desire.
However, Lane was dreadful for me. To get a 4 in the HDM ratings in a performance as gritty and determined as it was, is embarrassing for him. His tackling, grabbing and failure to make yards is really poor. Savelio, even though it looks like he might be leaving, has to play next week instead of Lane. My team for next week if fitness news is correct:
Hoy
Litten
Carlos
Sutcliffe
Swift
Trueman
Clifford
Sao
Houghton
Fash
Griffin
Savelio
Cator
Satae
Taylor
Dwyer
Scott (Back row and backs)
