I have no problem with the signing of Phelps who i think is a good player, only the shoddy timing and the fact that Agar chose to spend so much time chasing a player who was never available.

Delighted with the Phelps signing. He was excellent at wigan and was particularly good at fullback so I think he will be a like for like replacement for Tansey. He was underrated during his time at Wigan but SL fans but Wigan fans will tell you how good he was for them.



Also he can cover centre, wing and the halves. His best asset is linking into the line and also his distribution plus he plays with bundles of enthusiasm.

Agree with all of that, but he's just a little suspect under the high ball. Fantastic at coming into the line and delivering the final pass, but isn't the sort of running fullback like Tomkins or Roberts. Definately a decent player though, suprised its taken this long to get a club.

Phelps can basically play any position from 1 to 7 and also does a good job at hooker too.

who is in charge of getting the players highlighted at Hull. I thought the job of the coach was to highlight players they want and convince them when they have permission to speak. Surely when a fee is involved it is the boards who is responsible if you cannot gain permission to speak to the player. Hardly Agars fault
