If we can sign an big powerful overseas backrower and release Griffin then I'd sign Longstaff, he would be in first 17, but in the fringe squad until he improves his strength in attack and defence.



I'd rather sign Julian from Catalans as think we need to improve our 17 rather than invest in long term projects (when we have a few already), but could take Longstaff as a squad player if we recruit an overseas backrower. My fear is that Longstaff is seen as Ma'u replacemnet and I don't think he is the right type of player we need and isn't ready to play in our best 17 of we want to progress.

Andrew Davy has been released from Manly. Don't think he's what we need age/experience wise, but he plays second row.



Andrew Fifita won't be retained by the Sharks either. Odds on him going to Wakey for a season?

On West Tigers Tyrone Peachey was made available earlier on in the year, with Wests chipping in his salary.



He'd be another Lovodua type signing and not what we need. But he primarily plays 2nd row/13. A biggish name too

I like Davey a lot and think he would be a good signing, would be a great role model for our younger players given his story too, imagine he will stay in the NRL though.

I think Julien is the most realistic we can hope for. Still be a decent signing and if we can get longstaff too then would give us plenty of options in the back row

Bit of a side note, but interesting to see that Trueman has been named in the England Knights squad for the friendlies in October considering it was thought he would miss the start of next season.

They've named Connor Wrench too, he did his ACL 2/3 weeks ago. Think it's just to keep them in and around the squad
