Looking like Ockunbor is the new scapegoat.

Don't get it especially after just 2 games and especially when he is still fairly new to the second row.

Thought he went quite well in both games personally and looked strong in his carries. Just needs to be used right and think he could go really well.

Okunbor was steady for me and certainly shouldn't be singled out for any criticism, he was one of our better players last week (or less worse players anyway). He'll improve the more he gets used to super league and his surroundings.

Missed that tackle on Lewis and gave away a penalty, but overall thought he did Ok, tackled well (a couple of excellent tackles at the marker and a try saver), ran hard too, think he will come good long term if he can get some good ball. Not our biggest worry for sure.

Okunbor wasn't brilliant (although nobody could've been brilliant in last week's team) but he wasn't awful either, if he was part of Club Hull he'd have gone under the radar, but being a quota player he'll be under more scrutiny from the fans

It was a dire performance all-round last week , I really cant see why anyone would single one player out from that carnage .

Agree, and a pretty fair assessment. We were an absolute dogs dinner last Thursday and made things even worse as the game progressed. The only positive really is that despite everything they at least didn't chuck the towel in.



As you say Okunbor wasn't brilliant but nobody was but he wasn't terrible either (or get a ban) so hopefully with his first game under his belt we'll see a bit more from him.

We have no centres, and martins played there a fair bit for the academy



There is nobody else, unless its a young lad with zero 1st team experiance



Who do you suggest?

I think Mcintosh has played a bit of centre for Huddersfield, maybe an option with Litten going to the wing? I think it's going to be a mish mash backline whichever way you slice it unfortunately. I'd rather that than throw an academy player into this game it would do more harm than good.

Makes the decision to let Manoa Wacokecoke leave even stranger really, as there's no real centres in the reserves until you get down to Dawson who's too young.



Also AP did state pre season that another outside back could be signed before the season, but nothing came of that either

I watch most home academy games and always follow the teams, I don't think he has ever played then. Could be my old memory letting me down.



Mcintosh would be a better bet, sure he has played there before or Walker at centre, Hoy FB.

I was critical of okunbor last week.

cator going off injured then going a man down meant he had to do more defensive work.

In saying that

the hype, expectations and fact he’s one of the biggest earners in the squad.

Early days yet but I’m expecting better from our overseas players.

My over riding concern pre season was leadership..

Hopefully plenty of improvement to come.

I think McIntosh has filled in at centre before .

I thought he had. Might be an option?. Litten IMO needs a year on loan somewhere. Not good enough as a winger or centre. Needs bulking up as gets pushed of far to easily. F B is definitely his position. Early days yet for the kid.

Neither Litten or Mcintosh is ideal.



That's what you get for having 4 injury prone centres.

Anymore bans/injuries and we will struggle to field a team next week.

Any word on the team yet? Not like it will make this miserable February afternoon any more enjoyable

Hopefully no injuries, hopefully things will calm down a bit with all the cards with the player uproar and the world club challenge issues.

Fingers crossed but I’m not holding my breath, just seems to be a constant stream of bad news surrounding our club lately.

Totally, I try to be as positive as possible about the club, as I'm that type of person, but that's very very hard at the moment.

He is a good signing for HKR and a leader on the pitch which we are missing

A penalty machine is better than our front rows who are sitting in the stands for several games having received red and yellow cards plus bans

I thought Herman & Pele looked very effective while on the field, hopefully they will be good assets for us.



Signing older players ala Steve Kearney can work well, Ryan Hall also for rovers, but in our sport it’s a gamble, especially for forwards.

The only thing they seem to communicate nowadays is if there is something to sell, eg the new gear they’ve just released. Winds me up.

In fairness the retro shirts just dropped look class, maybe we should just be a fashion store from now on
