Be gutted if he went , but with only a year left we might as well get some cash or a player in exchange if we can . Might also give smith the chance to shape the team with signings and also how we play if he has had some input in this .

Think its nailed on he'll leave.



Talk is a swap deal with Wardle which makes it even more confusing.



Carlos, Sutcliffe plus Wardle is alot of cap tied up at centre.

Our best case scenario is having Jake for 12 months. He wont stay beyond his current deal, cant blame him as he is ambitious and currentley that isnt matched by the players around him. If allowing him to go allows us to sign a scrum half and second row who are good then it will be good business.



We are losing him at the end of 2023.

Sign walker to play at fullback, Hoy and Trueman at 6&7, use the quota space and Jake's wages to pay for a decent second rower (or two)?

I'd be sorry to see him go. He's been commuting over for the entirety of his time here and he certainly doesnt owe us anything. He's been one of the only lights in recent dark seasons.



I get the argument of him going means we can spread our attacking threat across the team; but I'd sooner see him stay and the outright onus on him all the time shared.



That said, I think he revels being the Ronaldo.



If he goes and the squad becomes balanced and dangerous without reliance on one player ill be resolute.

Carlos currently back home in New Zealand and is due back in a couple of weeks. He's got another 2 years left so can't see him going anywhere but don't think anything would surprise me after the last couple of days.
