Surely Hull have to announce something soon. Whether it’s a good move or not, time will tell but the facts are:



- We’ve had an awful couple of seasons

- got spanked by a 16 man rovers

- lost our head coach, assistant, head S&C and physio and thus far have only announced a new head coach

- just lost our most effective player



I’ll get my pass no matter what but it really feels difficult. Surely they had someone lined up to release Connor so announce it already.



For me, we need a an ambitious signing(s) now.

True, seems to be a 50/50 split in fans. The ones like us come be appeased a bit by some kind of signing.

Personally I think we will already have somebody signed and ready to announce. The rumours of Jake to Hudds started weeks ago. I feel like we will have basically said they can have him so long as we get a replacement sorted. I don't believe the timing is a coincidence, a couple of weeks after a whole host of overseas players enter the country for the world cup.

If I was to guess I'd say we had a target(s) picked out weeks ago whe first speaking to Hudds, have spoken to them when they've come over, and once the deal was finalised have gone back to Hudds to finish the Jake deal. Potentially Wakeham as it's recently been in the news about him been available.



I may be so far wide of the mark with this, but it's just my thoughts.

Next week or so is key, unless signings are right I think some won't get a pass.

I wouldn't be surprised if details on coaching staff don't come to light till pre season in early November.

Will get a pass regardless, one player doesn't make a team but it cant be stressed how important of a replacement this will be. A NRL quality 7 and Matty English would be ideal. Hardaker and Abdul doesn't cut it for me.

The positive aspect is that Smith will get a chance to sign a playmaker a year earlier than he would have.

Sad to see him go, but it’s an opportunity to reshape the squad under a proven head coach.

Agree with you on that Dave. Wont affect me renewing but after the previous seasons of continued failure the goodwill of just auto renewing for many will certainly be tested the arrival of Smith will have helped buoy the pass renewals but I think losing a player such as Connor if not replaced suitably will certainly affect the numbers when adding in the cost of living issues facing everyone on top of another season of abject and dismal performances.



I’m not against Connor exiting as can see the pluses of letting him go but there is also a downside if the recruitment isn’t right to cover the loss of Jake.
