He definitely wants out, but whether there is anyone out there who has the funds/wants to buy it is another story.

| I'd definitely take Briers, learnt his trade at the best place in SL and is in a great winning culture in the NRL.
However no first team coach experience and why would ge leave Brisbane, only I suppose if he or his family are homesick.

| Where has Pearson suddenly got the funds to sack Smith and pay off Hoy and apparantly others. One possibility is that he has found someone who is pepared to invest but I think the most likely is that he has sold out to someone who is insisting these measures are taken before completion of the deal. Couple of possibilities an Mally & Dave Walker but I think the most likely is Hull City (makes sense)??????

Apparently seen at the club thos week, would definitely like him involved, done well at Doncaster, but not as head coach, maybe Genes replacement, but you would think that a new coach would want to sort out their own backroom staff.

| What do people think we need at the moment? A disciplinarian and taskmaster who will whip the players into shape? A tactician who will get them to play as a team? A motivator and innovator to inspire them?

If they get the opportunity (which is questionable given our track record) to bring in their own staff then they absolutely should. But I would like to think that they might still be room to bring someone like Horne back into the fold as well.

Briers would be a good choice. As for the lack of expererience, it's a fair point but Pearson has history of course of appointing first time coaches. I guess Matt Peet has done OK in his first gig (although I think I could coach that team to a trophy or two).

| If we're gonna go no nonsense then give Grix a go. Untried Oz assistants haven't worked so this club needs to go back to basics. We're not a big club and probably won't be for a long time so we need to start again. Let Grix try imo

| Really frustrating how under funded our playing squad this year has been but if the rumours I heard the other week are true then Pearson might have made the right decision.
I was told that we’ve had this potential investor for a while but wasn’t going to commit to anything till the Covid loan was gone and it looked like a new lease was agreed.
If true, I think Pearson has decided to sacrifice today with tomorrow in mind. Which as a fan is tough but thinking strategically I understand.
Does this mean we hear some positivity about the lease as well

I'd want the new coach in charge of recruitment, even if not coaching the side this season.

Absolutely. Get everything in place so they've already got a front foot on building their version of the team.

And he had a spat with Pearson a few years ago.

| Whilst it took him a while to find his feet and I wasn't a fan when he started coaching, McNamara might be worth a punt (not saying he'd be interested). He's done a decent job at Catalans. Briers would also be an interesting option but maybe too much of a risk given the turmoil the club is in.

Briers will be Warringtons head coach when he's lived his dream job at the Broncos and decides to come home IMO
