| Quote PAUL M="PAUL M"That's true but tbh I have not really seen Nicklas, I guess we will be looking more at a 7 than a 6 tbh which would rule Briggs out. What are the strengths of Nicklas?'" I would say Nicklas's skill set makes him more suited to playing at 7 which is what he seems to be playing for our 20s as neither him or Williams have the best running game and are more about distributing and controlling play.

| players like nicklas need to be given their chance.other teams bring them through, but perhaps, hull are a bit worried or frightened to give them a run?? give nicklas his chance at 6 and bring in another 7.i can't see us signing any more backs,so therefore a 7 and a prop,or if the westerman rumour is true, then i reckon lauaki will move to prop, leaving a 7 to be brought in.

| As time goes by pretty sure that dowes will be the prop and that our hunt for a 7 is struggling because an overseas isn't likely to want to come for just 1 year and isn't many english one's available

| In that vid, rovelli looks both crap, yet better than what we had for the majority of last season.
Would prefer Moore to Briggs tbh. Robinson would be even better.
Personally, I prefer Lauaki to be at prop, but doing that at this stage would mean putting Fitz into the SR and putting Washy or Westerman (if the rumour's true) at LF.
A pack of
O'Meley
Houghton
Radford
Tickle
Fitz
Washbrook/Westerman
Moa
Lauaki
Manu
Tansey (as interchange hooker, Whiting to FB)
would be pretty decent in my eyes.
edit: if any actually gives a shiit, my backs would be
Whiting
Sharp
Yeaman
Berrigan
Briscoe

| Options on any new signings are now limited. Not many players of decent ability available.
Dowes looks to be our only hope at prop . As for a halfback who knows?

Quote Smiggs="Smiggs"So which top quality Salford player are we getting in exchange for Long?'"
Coincidentally an interview with Long on the official website today suggests Long is staying:
www.hullfc.com/hullfc/contents/?p=6870
“I am 100 per cent certain we will go better next year and we’ll be better for what we have been through this year and the learning curve it has been for some. If we can keep the side relatively injury free we can kick on. At the start of the year most the fans I spoke to said a six place finish would be good after the year before, we did that with a lot of injuries so we are confident next year we can push up the table and challenge.”
Aside from the early climax to Super League XV, Long has been delighted with his start to life with Hull FC. A move across the Pennines at the end of 2009 was probably a daunting one, but Rugby League’s most decorated player has slotted in well in his new environment and is hungry again for more success.
“I loved my first year as a Hull player though, it is a great set of lads down here, the fans are really passionate and they got behind the lads all year,” he said.
“Last season was a mixed one for me personally. I really enjoyed myself when I played but I was disappointed with the number of games that I missed. Hopefully both the team and I can go one step further and challenge next season which is something we are all desperate for.”

Waiting for the Argos/Currys Christmas recruitment drive?
It's his level, unless of course he drops stuff between the warehouse and shop floor?

I thought Nicklas was the 6 and Williams the 7. I was told Williams was at least 2 years away yet but not heard much about Nicklas, could he do a job this season at 7?

| With Parramatta Looking more and more likely to sign Matt Orford, I wonder if there is a deal to be done with our old mates Steve Kearney and Peter Sharp to get Dan Mortimer here at Hull for a couple of seasons. I would imagine that they would have to free up some cap space to accomodate any cost of compensating Bradford for Orfords services.
Mortimer looked a bit lost at the back end of the season, but is certainly a talent.
Just a thought.

You reckon? I would say chances would be slim, but letting the kid come play Super League for a couple of years would really improve his attacking game IMO. I would imagine that Kearney would want him to learn from Orford if he went there, though.
Robson would be a decent signing.

what do you mean are you hinting at the hethertingtons? i thought maybe he signed for leeds because buderus did the ground work since they played together
besides, would you be happy signing another prop on the quota? i guess i would if they're good enough but can't say i know much about cross

TBF Leeds have known for a while that Eastwood was going home and will have been active in the market for a while.
To bring a 30 year old prop across would need more then a one year deal in the majority of cases so I would hope Cross was never on our radar.
