Washy has covered there a couple of times and it may be his chance of a first team start next season. Washy always looks better playing in the middle of the park and has decent distribution so may well be worth a shot at hooker.

I would move Fitz to prop regardless of Westerman signing or not. If he does sign then great if not I would give the role to Whiting. Didnt PaulM suggest that Agar was planinng on using Whiting at 13 and changing the style of his pack for next season? I would welcome that change!

Except Fitz is not a prop and Washbrook would be too slow off the mark from dummy half and distribution too slow,

Washys got the off season to practice.

He has played at prop in Aus, at all levels too.

IMO Fitz plays exactly like a prop and not like we need a 13 to play......an extra play maker. A tactic we have used having 3 props on pitch at same time is why we are so boring and down the middle 1 man garbage predictable team. Hope that makes sense cos 3 props doesnt.



I'd rather johnny whitely played 13 at least he can pass further than 5m.



With Fitz as out n out prop I'd gladly have him another year or two possibly polaying majority of match, using extra strike player on bench instead of 2 props all time

Washy is just not quick enough for me to play 9.

But wherever he is named he plays like a prop. Be it 9,10,11,12,13.

He's filled in there a couple of times and didn't look out of place.

He would be more like Moore/Clarke than a Roby/Houghton type player. Could be a decent option. Danny certainly can't play the full 80 mins each week.

What about using Whiting at 6? He's played there before, and had the number 6 shirt in 2006 I think it was?

Fitzgibbon would play winger if you asked him to such is his commitment, hes a tall bloke but hasn't got the bulk of a natural front rower imo, combine that with his age and the fact that he hasn't ever played there on a regular basis and its a big ask for him to take on the best props super league has to offer week in week out.

that was the point i was trying to make, a massive ask imo from him to play prop week in week out, dont think his body would be up to it. ,

me too, would rather promote an u20 to the squad as a fifth prop than play fitz there.

But he's doing it already! That's why he's knackered by threequarters way through the game. Played as a starting prop with Whiting at loose would give us more balance and Fitz probably less wear and tear than he currently gets cos he could be spelled. And if we can't find an Aussie dummy half/half back cover ( James Aubusson ex Roosters could possibly do that for us if he'd come? ) then , yes , Washbrook would probably have to fill that role and spell Houghton.

IF Fitz were to be moved from loose, which is unlikely as I don't really see anything in the Westerman rumours nor expect Agar to go for a moreballplaying 13, I'd move him into the second row.

I think he'd last longer there than at prop fulltime, judging by his age and injury record.

Agree...It was bad enough watching him with ball in hand playing at stand off never mind hooker.

He has all the off season to improve his distribution speed if Agar has his mind set on him filling in at hooker for next year.



For me it never worked with Murrell and I would have doubts with Washbrook been able to make a real impact but it will help Houghton out, so maybe it might be worth giving it a go.

Could Horne play hooker and spell Houghton if a 6 came in?

I've said before on here that i've watched Washy with interest whenever he's played 9 and his distribution from the base of the ruck isn't actually that bad. Washy and Houghton are both far better than Berro from the base of the ruck.



Whether you like him or not (and it appears plenty dont on here) Washy is a valid option to play 9 next year and will be no weaker than what we've had.
