not necessarily, they can cause more problems than they solve.

Yes they maybe but it will only be a short term solution if it is a unipolar episode, normally other methods are tried first unless the individual is having suicidal thoughts then the GP will prescribe straight away.

this is way O/T, but a GP wouldn't prescribe anything to someone who is suicidal.

You are so wrong with that, of course they do, when an individual visits the GP with stress/depression they will be asked a number of questions one of those questions will be if they had at any point felt suicidal if the answer is yes they prescibe mediaction!!! fact, alongside they are offered other services.

That is one of the main reason why medication is offered to a client suffering a unipolar episode.



They are then referred to the mental health team straight away and normally seen very quickly.
