Sounds like all the wheels are turning and we are moving in the right direction. I think the attitude of Steve will be key to our application next time. He has danced to the RFL's tune since the last application and I guess we have to try and just be confident that we have the best application outside of SL.. and maybe a better bet than some of those in it!
C'mon Widnes..

| Saw the interview and he stated that one of the reasons we didn't get a licence was because our youth development wasn't good enough, i presume that's because we lost a lot of the youth players we had in 2007 had left when the club went bang.
He also stated that they are making sure that the next licence application would tick every box.

i guess he's just saying what Bull shi^ the RFL came out with to keep them happy! Aye Youth Development not good enough? Says a lot for some other sides! Surely even those lost have to count as we 'developed' them! Nash, Sidlow, Myler to name 3!

| You didn't get the license last time round because it was too soon after administration - even though your house had been put in order by Steve O. I guess it just wouldn't have looked right would it? Club goes bust and within months, gets admitted to Super League. It was too unpallatable for the RFL. No excuses next time though. Barring similar disasters you're a shoe in and the calm and measured responses to the license failure from your Chairman was professional and non-controversial (unlike Leigh's ).
Don't forget us little people left in the Championship though will you. Loan players, friendly matches etc .......
What will Fingerpost do in 2012? If Saints are at KR, he won't have to swap ends

| Hope your right Ritch! Think that’s what SO’C is basically saying, all we have to do now is stay financially viable and should be laughing, prob why all going part time next year, just to protect from a sudden other economic downturn!
I don’t blame Leigh guy for coming out, he had a point didn’t he! Cru beat Leigh in No aspects other than position of club geographically so why wheren’t Leigh in?
Why where Leigh judged on Hilton Park and not LSV, whereas even in RFL’s own lowdown the likes of Salford / Wakey / Saints and Cru had mention of new grounds… LEIGH’S WAS BUILT!
TBH, It’s best not to get into it really isn’t

I was shocked to find out that the person who gave that statement is still at the club giving statements.
Steve O was very professional even when the BBC tried to provoke him with the Celtic question.

Where have you heard we're going part time? News to me. I would suggest the fact that we only have 8 full time players means that Steve O has been very careful financially from the start of this year.
Leigh didn't beat them on the criteria. Their application was very unprofessional.

Well considering he is our CEO he would be
Your Mr O Connor congratulated him on having the ' balls ' to speak out
Too many ' brown noses ' in RL , that's why we have what we have , a split sport

| You will get in next time if you can remain solvent.
Given your boss is a very shrewd man, I would think you will be better off having missed out in the first round of Licences and arrrive in SL in much better condition that Salford or Celtic have this year.
I was suprised that Salford got the nod ahead of you, but I will be stunned of 2lose get in ahead of you next time around.
Celtic would seem to be having a PSG type of event and they will be in massive trouble should LS get bored. This should be a warning to the RFL that London apart, you can't expect to plant a team in a non RL region and expect decent players (Australian or otherwise) to move there. We spent 10 years with a team full of crims and the only reason we could attract them was LONDON....somehow, Bridgend isn't as appealing. It has taken us a long time to attract players of decent quality to the south, but now the likes of Orr and Purdham are saying how great it is down here, others may follow.
As I said above, if you don't get into SL next time around I will be stunned.

I'd say if Toulouse continue their development they'd be more worthy of a franchise than Celtic were. They're already one of the top supported clubs in the league.
I think a heartland club will be dumped in favour of Toulouse, I just hope Widnes get in there too.
