Quote Soldierboy="Soldierboy"Why has he not posted on his own teams board?Well maybe no fans, just give freebies and use the location factor.

The Barrow forum is here ...... www.totalrl.com/index.php?showforum=4 , where you will find the article posted.
Not sure what the comment about freebies is, but if you are referring to free tickets, our club gives away very few - if any. The vast, vast majority pay to get in for every game, unlike many clubs who offer 'free matches' or 'bring a mate for free'. Neither do we pretty much give away our season tickets. People will pay for a quality product - as last year proved for us. Hence our good expected turnover and profit for 2009.

| Expect more of this as the sordid licence affair gathers pace boys..
You can count yourselves lucky that you weren't involved the last time out and indications are that this time around things could get just as nasty with four or five SL clubs clinging desperately to their licence spot.
The one thing that distinguished SOC last time out was his refusal to get dragged into the mud slinging and petty point scoring employed by some of his counterparts. Instead his focus was completely on our bid.
Make no mistake the guy is an asset to our club and is greatly liked by the RL community.
With regards to this article I don't see anything controversial... just a club chairman tub-thumping his team's chances.
He is simply saying what is currently being said by certain sections of the RL community. With Celtic lurching from issue to issue it has been widely been touted that we are the team best suited to take their place and SOC was responding directly to a question about this. His answer being that we will not be going anywhere just yet but we are clear favourites for a spot in 2012. It's a mark of the man that he did not take the opportunity to gloat about the situation in South Wales but instead offer sympathy.
Why is he so confident of a licence next time around??
Looking at our own bid... last time around (although it was all a bit of fun) Sky gave us a Grade B rating for a licence and we feel that we have improved since then. The RFL earmarked the 'administration' as being the factor for our refusal. That is not something that can be used this time around and so we are very confident.
The RFL have looked fairly foolish in their choice of Celtic over Widnes with some ugly questions being asked in the media and I think the RFL will look to appoint us next time around.

Where exactly have I tried to whip up anti-Barrow feeling on another club's forum? Or are you simply publicizing where you keep your stash?

| Quote In EnemyTerritory="In EnemyTerritory"Interesting... it seems that SRC is trying to whip up a bit of his anti-Widnes feeling on other boards but it looks for the major part as though it has failed. I'd say that quite a few more of the posts seem to 'support' what SOC is saying and recognise the strength of our bid for the next round.
Must be pretty galling for you that SRC??
'"
=#004080I think you are right with that comment. Most people accept that Widnes should have had a Superleage place above the Welsh, and would certainly look the best placed for the next franchise bid. What is important though is what criteria the RFL set for the next round of bids, because sure as eggs is eggs they will change some of it. It will also depend on what number of Superleage teams they decide on. If they decide to stay with 14, then I would expect Widnes's bid to win above Salford, Wakefield and the Welsh. What we at Halifax have to do is keep an eye on what we are doing , so we can also be in the mix.

It was a joke and obviously you have taken it personnel. Widnes where robbed of a place and now no administration over the next 3yrs.We have the best stadium and fan base in the league. We also have a youth set up and one of our assets went to salford, and played for england. If you are posting this on other boards you are upset.

| “However they have made clear their minimum criteria for entry and I’m comfortable that we we’ve met that to date."
I find this line interesting... does this simply refer to criteria of winning the NR cup and a GF appearance or something else?
John Wilkinson seemed to suggest some time ago that the RFL had spoken to them about improvements they NEEDED to make in order to apply next time around. Des Johnston was complaining some months ago that the RFL had spoken to him and informed him that their on field achievements would count for nothing unless they substantially improved Craven Park. We know about the letters sent to the 'infamous five' regarding the state of their ground development plans and the warning housed within them.
It increasingly looks likely that grounds will be one of the main focus points of the next round putting us front and centre for a franchise spot.
