That was just him and Varks getting to know each other again , you know what us Leythers are like

I think the plan was to bully us. They did it at the Stobart. In the words of Paul Cullen, they gave us a lesson in the dark arts of Rugby League. Our pack was weak and full of kids then. The pack they faced today was an entirely different prospect.
I wasn't disappointed with it at all. It's part of the game. This time it didn't work.

There's nothing like a bit of biff to spice up a cup final, especially when we stand our ground and go toe to toe.

I think you were watching a different match. Watch the Sky coverage. Gannon should have seen red but Hewer bottled it.
Best team won no doubt, and even though we didn't play particularly well, I was pretty proud our team considering we had so many injuries and players unavailable. We had 10 locals in the team which has got to be a good thing.
Can't wait for the rematch at Craven Park. Should have Catic, Rooney and a couple more loan signings by then.

mate the only one that should have seen red was that little sh'it holt, when he ran in and punched gannon which totally imflamed the situation. i can't wait for the rematch either the penalty count will be even more in our favour with catic playing.

Are you referring to the incident when Gannon punched McDermott in the scrum, after McDermott had his hand on Gannon's "groin"? Suggest you watch it again and then tell us which player started it. Another clue might be the commentary team continually referring to Barrow attempting to rough Widnes up?
Thought Hewer did very well to keep the match under control at the start. Didn't seem like there was any bad blood between the players at the end, either. And on that subject, well done to the Barrow fans for their generous and sporting behaviour after the match.

| It's nice to know that we can cope with tactics like this. At the beginning of the season we had no chance. I think Pickersgill coming in has made a huge difference here, and obviously a fit again Morrison.

Brett squeezed his nads previous to him punching out, and while your at it have a look at Braceks challenge on Gannon just short of half time. He should have seen red for that.

| Not disappointed at all in Barrow's tac tics.I enjoyed it,just like the good old days when Kevin Tamati and Eddie Szymala went toe to toe and were sin binned in the opening minutes of the 1983 Lancs cup final between the two same sides.
