Keep hearing rumours that Gavin Dodd will be leaving Widnes to re-sign for Oldham. Anyone else heard the same?. Have been out of the loop for a while so might have missed something.

He has already left Widnes, but destination not confirmed as yet, though Oldham seems likley atm as they sorting squad together lately!

I dont rate Yacca to be honest, for me he's too lightweight and dodgy under the high ball. I know he's still only young but for me i dont think he will make it.

I think he still has time and this is prob make or break season! I'd rather we gave our lads a shot rather than help train another sides as we need to bring through our own players to tick youth boxes and more importantly for me, a bit of local pride in the squad!

I agree if was good enough he be showing more promise by now.He is 22 now so is developed now.Think he is a championship 1 level player like draper and josh simm.

Tend to agree - another young fullback, Richard Owen, came through in 2007 (aged 16 if i remember correctly). He's now had 3 seasons at 1st team level and played nearly 50 games at SL level - and he still only 19. I know some players develop later, but IMO if you've not shown enough by aged 19/20 maybe 21 then its unlikely they'll make it.



To be fair, when he's not making mistakes, he does look like a decent player, but probably due to his mistakes and lack of confidence, he been in and out the side for 2 or 3 years now and each time he's had a chance he's not really taken it. I'd probably give him one last chance in the NRC and friendlies and see how it goes.

Dylan Nash would be a good signing for you guys. Would be the most impressive player you hav signed so far.

Off season is rubbish isn't it. All there is to do is slag other teams signings off and say how good your own are.
