I couldn't make the game today so I didn't see this guy play.....how did he get on?

Didn't do too badly, had a dream start thanks to Purtell handing him a try on a silver platter. After that he had a few bombs sent his way, one of which Rochdale scored from.
A couple of times we spread it wide to his wing but the final passes were poor, not his fault, and they ended up going into touch.
In the second half Rochdale messed up while in posession and he found himself in space. With a bit more confidence he probably would have put his head back and backed himself, but instead he made about 40 yards then cut back inside and looked for support.

He's still a way off SL yet imo, compared to the blokes around him he has a very small frame - understandable given his age though.

As a debut he did well. Not afraid of getting himself dirty with some runs infield among the big fellas. Got a few horror passes that made him look a bit of a goose. Start to give him a few sub appearances as the season goes on.

At least he didn't have a nightmare, looking forward to some of our other young players get a crack at some point (Naughton and Roberts).

How did Ben Evans get on? I really rate him based on his U20's performances last year for us. Hope he gets a run of games together for you.

He did well. He ran hard and strong all afternoon. We're gonna need him if Langer's hamstring is dodgy>

Impressed with what I saw of Evans. He drove the ball in hard every time he had it. He looked for work and didn't try to ease his way in after such a long layoff. Looks a useful prospect. Good start, lets see how he goes against super league opposition.
