I was watching NRL at the weekend and David Gower made his debut for West Tigers in their defeat of the Bulldogs.

Good to see a former red playing in the NRL - although does pose the question of why we let him go.....seemed an ok player to me.

Not sure how many times you saw him play from such a distance!

ignoring the childish bitchy comment, are you saying that Gower didn't deserve to kept on? IMO he was looking like a good prospect and I think we were very silly in letting him go.

Strikes me the club can't win on this one - if we keep a promisng young Aussie then there's criticism for keeping out British players, if we let one go who subsequently does well then more criticism. FWIW I though Gower looked a good prospect, but if I had to choose between keeping him or keeping Sidlow, Adamanson, Jewitt etc. then I think the right decision was made

Think the ball was in Gowers court & the club felt he took too long to decide if he wanted to stay, & the club gave his spot to someone else pity as I thought he did ok for us

Gower had a British Passport if I remember rightly.
