Exactly the words i would use to describe the Saints tonight. Losing a Grand Final and finishing the season without a trophy. Some of them seem to class this season as a success though.

Must be depressing to have a new team and new coach and fall at the same hurdle. Who says they wont get beaten again next year and make it six?

If you'd have described their season to me in Feb, I'd of said a GF appearance would've been a success.

Couldn't believe Royce Simmonds's win / loss ratio, something like 43% on nearly 300 games. Even less before staring this season, that's shocking.

BTW - Did anyone notice Keiron Purtill giving the half time team talk, camera panned back to show Owd Royce just stood there grim faced.

Purtill always does a bit at half time. As does Royce, just happens that with the adverts etc Sky always go in to the dressing room when KP is talking.

In a way, I thought their suport this year has been very poor, Their own fans moaning , poor attendance , every excuse about this and that. Their kids have been forced in because of injuries, But imho i think they have been better than the players they have replaced.

So to have them win the GF after all that , no thanks

It's getting a bit boring & pointless now - even for me a Wigan fan

It's probably been a season that's exceeded Saints expectations so as much as your never happy to lose a grand final when the dust settles it's probably been a relative success.

Having to blood youngsters has helped them massively.
