Any truth to the rumour that your half back Kyle Briggs has or will sign a 2-year deal to join us from next season?

Its been quite a persistent rumour, as has Briggs to Cas for that matter. Thing is, he is already under contract for next year so unless a transfer fee is forthcoming(seems unlikely given the noises currently coming out of Quins) or a player exchange is on the cards...

Contracts are no longer the bargaining chips they used to be especially if the player has an opportunity to better himself. If he wanted to play at a higher level, would you block him from doing that.

maybe, but I'm not the BoD. The world is a very different place to what it was just a few months ago. The world's finances is on it's @rse and rugby clubs are no exception.
There is a value in Kyles contract up until the end of next year. I don't think any championship club can afford to let a player go without appropriate remuneration.
However, what's "appropriate" is oft down to the skill of the negotiator or the determination of the player!!

I reckon a lot of contracts have a clause in them that mean they're free to leave if a Super League club comes knocking. This may or may not command a fee but I doubt the contract would have to be bought out as well.

Quins won't pay a 5 figure fee. Last year they were allowed to speak to Tangi Ropati by Sheffield Eagles, but then the clubs could not agree a fee for the fella, result was he stayed under contract in the Championship.

I've heard the following rumours linking Kyle with :- London, Cas, Wakey, Salford, Crusaders and now Hull FC!!!!!

All the rumours have apparently been nailed on, dead certs, from "someone in the know"!!!

When you see Kyle's signature on the bottom of a Hull FC contract - believe it!!
