Been watching Netflix online for the past month or so, no issues. Gone to watch the new House Of Cards today and it tells me I have an issue with Microsoft Silverlight (I don;t even know what that is!)
Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling as suggested, tried rebooting several times and it still says I have an issue - anyone know how to get around this?

I have had the same problem, but this was with the Sky Go app on my laptop. I couldn't get around the problem on internet explorer, but changed to using Google Chrome and it seems to work.
Might be worth swapping your search engine provide to see if that works?
